Ashland Town Center. A shopping mall on the fringes of Kentucky & built around the same time KYOVA Mall was. How is the mall holding up? Let's step inside, and find out.

This mall will survive for a long time due to the area. The bigger Huntington mall is a little farther to travel for the people of the area so that's why this mall is thriving .

For us in Eastern Kentucky, this is a big thing. Many of us drive a long way to come here every now and again. That's probablly why it holds on. You have the appeal of the rural locals who don't get to the "big city" all that often.

We just lost a mall staple in Canada called Aldo Shoes yesterday. I love that indoor trampoline!

Large grocery store in Cincinnati? I bet you went to Jungle Jim's!, I went to the Fairfield location about 2 years ago. I spent about 2 hours in that place just walking around and the best part is it's free!!! I loved it there!!!!

I think this is the first time I've heard of any mall anchor spaces(in any mall out there) that went from Walmart, to JCPenney anchoring it. Also this mall is holding up extremely well, considering a lot of malls in smaller cities and towns aren't as often holding up well.

this jc penney thing is most certainly going to involve store closures...how many malls out there....have only a jc penney left as a sole anchor right now? and how long would a mall last then?

This mall is one of the most bland that you have filmed in my opinion. It is a shame that these boring properties are the ones that typically outlast the more visually attractive properties. Thanks for keeping the content going.

Yeah, it is a pretty bland place. Although it pales in comparison to Huntington Mall, the interior of which did absolutely nothing for me.

Bland? I personally don't think so; take a look at Victoria's Secret and Bath & Bodyworks. Very cool! However, there ARE too many damned kiosks, and that means too much damned clutter. And I don't even want to THINK about those demonic kids 'mini-rides' that provide their own laughing children soundtrack [shudder]. Overall, though, this is a pleasant and very clean place to do one's shopping, and I give it two thumbs up (because TWO is all I HAVE)...

@@DoomieGruntVentures it is one story. This was the mall I grew up in. Haven't been there in a decade at least. Thanks for the video. If I'm not mistaken, JCPenney was originally Walmart which moved into its Super Center location close by. Belk started out as Hess's and I also believe the current Belk Home and Men's store was the original JC Penney. TJ Maxx was originally a Goody's. I'd have to see the mall map to be sure.

@@DoomieGruntVentures okay.. when you said largest in Kentucky I was picturing something along the lines of a three story Macy's you would find in the tri state area up here.. It does look really good from the outside.
