We had a good week around Fort William so I managed to re visit many places I have not seen for a number of years. It was so nice to see the Memorial again and the Tribute Garden that had not been there that long last time we went there. What lot of tributes there are now and I found it all very touching. Thank you for viewing Anita. Yes, too many young men have died in wars that should never have taken place. I always feel sad when I visit a memorial but they should be visited so we never forget. The Tribute Garden had only just been opened the last time I was there many years back now. I could not help feeling upset by some of the many tributes. Thank you for your comments Brenda. I love to visit all parts of Scotland so it was nice to revisit places in that area that I had not seen for a number of years. There are many canals with locks over the UK but Scotland has relied on them to live a normal life. Their lochs (lakes) mean a long journey if you have to go around them to get from one side to the other. There are quite a lot of locks and canals in England but many of them had got neglected when the waterways stopped being used to carry coal, wool, corn and other good etc. A few years back a trust was set up to re-opened the waterways in England and Wales and repair the locks also damaged canals. Many people help with money or work for free getting them back to working order. It is ongoing but many waterways are now in use and attract a lot who like a canal holiday. The garden had much more tributes to read since our last visit as that garden had just been open back then. Thank you Tomotugu and I am pleased you found it interesting. I love going to Scotland as each area is different to the rest of England. This part, near Fort William, is where the canals and mountains are and then the higher north west we go the more rugged the scenery gets. Yorkshire, where I live, is nice with lovely hills and dales but no mountains 😕 I know that compared to other countries, Scotland's mountains are nowhere near as huge but they are the best within reach of me and I do like to get up there when I can. The Tribute Garden has grown since we were last on holiday up there and I felt very sad reading some of the tributes. Have a happy week with some nice nature walks in your beautiful country. Many thanks Paul for your kind comments. It is many years since we were up in that part of Scotland and planned to go back a couple of years ago but the pandemic put an end to that. We had 6 nice days in August so got out and about every day. I was surprised how busy it is up there now. When we first went it was much quieter and the chance of seeing somewhere to eat away from the hotel was almost impossible. Now numerous cafes, burger bars too many different ones to name are in Fort William now. Thank you Linda. It was lovely to revisit places in August in that area of Scotland. We had planned to go up there a couple of years back but the pandemic restrictions put a stop to that. I could not believe that, in Fort William the largest town up there, so much has changed since we last went as it seemed to stand still as the years rolled by. Now it has numerous eating places and gift shops popping up all over but I suppose it had to catch up one day like many other towns and cities over here. We had 6 lovely days getting out and about and thankfully the scenery never changes. I still have more footage to edit and will get around to putting it on my channel soon. I have wanted to get up to that part of Scotland again since I had my back operation and then the pandemic put an and to our and many other peoples plans. This August we managed 6 days lovely days to re-visit that area again and I managed to get to see quiet a few places around there so have some still to edit when I get around to it. I was hoping to see some Swallows as we have not seen any near us in North Yorks for about two years and we used to see them a lot every year. I remember seeing some at Fort Augustus about 3 years back when we went for a day out while staying in Inverness. There were baby swallows sat in numbers on the rails in the same spot I took these ducks. No luck though! I didn't see one 😪 Still, I love seeing Mallard ducks so was happy to include them in my video. Have a great day. Warm greetings, Julie😊

Yes Don, we did get over the bad start but enjoyed the next 6 days revisiting places we had not been to for a number of years. I loved going back to the Commando Memorial and Tribute Garden. The garden had not been there long last we saw it and I did find it very moving to see so many tributes had been added. Thank you Jarmila. I did try to answered you before but for some reason it disappeared before I could send it... No idea why🤔 Well, I was pleased you enjoyed reading about the Oich Bridge. Scotland has such a lot of rivers and lochs, both inland ones and sea going ones. Years back it was hard to get from one place to another without having a long journey around them. Now they have more bridges and ferries to ease that problem. When we first went to the Isle of Skye it was by a ferry which I liked and it is not the same now there is a bridge. Have a good week.
