The concept of professional aged, retirement and assisted care giving is quite not too easily accepted among Ghanaians and Africa at large compared to Europe,America and other parts of the advanced world.
It is about time we change our minds about professional care giving in well established facilities built for the purpose.
Choosing assisted living for your aged or any loved family members does not mean abandonment but rather an expectation of love and good will.
This is a good thing to consider since it gives you ample time and energy to go about your personal engagements with little stress.
My visit to Royal Olive Court really shown that they are prepared to take professional care giving services to higher levels in Ghana.
I personally will urge viewers of / @pquarcoe to bring any family member that needs care giving to Royal Olive Court for a good and first class professional pampering.
Royal Olive Court is located along Afienya-Akosombo highway EMEFS estate junction, Accra-Ghana.

Great environment, its a plus for Ghana, I suggest elevators in there and side rails for the beds, safety measures should be more, but Great job, well done

It’s quite nice! Very nice to be informed about this kind of service. I’m hopeful it will be affordable for all senior citizens and their families.

from my professional eye, the beds need side rails for assistance, and prevent falls
@annabaidoo9457
@annabaidoo9457 2 ай бұрын
Putting side rails is not necessarily to prevent falls but a form of restriction unless there's medical need for it.

All these point to the direction that Ghana is moving in the right direction where citizens will not depend on the government for work. Some of us may to enjoy the benefits but our children and grandchildren will. For the roads, property taxes should have been used for that but…..

Ghana has nice homes built but they don’t see the need to have the roads built to make these buildings even look more attractive. Besides the dust pollution badly affects health.

It's only the government that builds roads, citizens are not allowed to do so that's why

Thank you! This what I have been saying! You can at least build tbe Road that leads to your property. Those building in the neighbourhood can come together to construct the road leading to the estate or neighbourhood. Since you know the government will not construct the roads why don't we do it ourselves?! Until when are we going to be waiting on the government?!

I hope you they will train their nurses and carers well because our Ghanaian nurses and sometimes even the Doctors in Ghana are well known to be mean and uncaring. I have experienced it first hand. So can you imagine our vulnerable old people being cared for 24/7 by them. Please supervise well and train well.

Your comment is my exact thought! There is lack of empathy in most of the healthcare workers in Ghana. Almost like they were forced to be in their positions.

@KimFert Because its not an African/Ghanaian concept. We look after our elderly, not palm them off to others. However, despite that, the facility is really well thought out, and it does look nice.

How much? Ghana has no insurance to support the client. How far is it affordable to the average Ghanaian pensioner?

Even in the U.S assisted living is private pay. People sell their homes, use their long term or life insurance or stocks money. Medicare and Medicaid don’t cover.

Why a market woman but not an average woman. Trust me, there market women who are very rich. Learn about the economic structure among market women. Most women with stalls make far more than average worker.
