You pretty much nailed my thoughts as well as this is a mall that fulfills the purpose it is meant too. Also, the Macy's here is a neighborhood store, meaning chances are higher that it will close eventually.

It was ominous when you went into that Macy’s. Typically when you see empty space in a store like that, it’s means it’s on its way out...

Crown America always had a plan to expand the mall. The public did not like the plan. When the fire happened they just went through with the plan.

Wow I can’t believe that GameStop still has the EB Games sign. I thought all the US locations were rebranded in 2006 and all Canada locations in 2021.

We used to have four Macy's locations in my local area (Rochester, NY) from 2006 until 2013. By the beginning of 2025, we will have only one left.

I worked at Macy's for several years in the early 2000s. It's crazy to see the mall so empty during the Christmas season. !5-20 years ago, it was sometimes easier to go outside to walk back to the store after a dinner break. Looks rather sad now in 2022.

If you yet did not know 2 stores are closing. The GameStop and the bookstore by Macy’s. I am pretty sure it is a Brady’s book outlet.

I used to live in Huntingdon, and I am very familiar with that mall. I made a few purchases in there.

This mall isn't bad but like everywhere else, it is losing stores. Business wise, it does pretty decent as it's the only good mall in the area. The 90's redesign doesn't have the character the old mall had with it's spiral ramp and fountains. They took the easy way to rebuild after the fire. Overall, it's a nice mall. They take care of it, it's fairly busy on the weekends (pre-covid).

The nice color scheme reminds me of how our Patrick Henry Mall here in Virginia looked in the 1990s. It was owned by Crown American too, but was sold to PREIT around 2004.

*2023 update from a mall employee. The mall has started to see a bit more foot traffic following; however, with rising inflation some stores still little to no traffic during weekdays, and really, at this point, only the significant stores can tolerate the loss of revenue. Overall the mall is mainly in the same deteriorating state. A few stores have moved out/closed. Here's a list of some updates since then; -- AMC Classic 8 - Closed briefly after re-opening from COVID shutdown Applebees - Moved out of the mall to new location by Martin's Bath & Body Works - a location in the Logan Town Centre *Expected to close Logan Valley mall location at some point. Christopher and Banks - Closed Eb Games/GameStop - Closed Eddie Bauer - Closed Executive Barberz - Opened Five Star Mitsubishi - Closed GNC - Closed Gardner's Candies - Closed Hallmark - Closed Justice - Entire company ceased physical operations - Logan Valley Mall location closed Kitchen Collection - Closed Mother-Hood maternity - Closed Kranich's Jewelers - Opened a location on the Blvd - Closed Logan Valley Mall Location PacSun - Closed Piercing Pagoda - Closed Regis Salon - Closed Sprint - closed briefly and re-opened under the T-Mobile branding The Amish Store - Closed Things Remembered - Closed -- I'm sure I have missed a few; there are roughly 50 businesses still operating in the mall; these are a mix of large businesses, resturants, mom & pop shops, as well as some lifestyle destinations such as Executive Barberz, and New York Nails & Spa. Also keep in mind that the mall is capable of housing more than double the amount of businesses that are operating today.

Like you say.. the empty space in Macy’s isn’t a good sign... and where were the Christmas decorations in the actual mall ... ?
