The Ark Encounter is a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark that was built in Kentucky. I had the opportunity to visit it and I thought you might be interested in seeing what it looks like!
The Ark Encounter is an amazing place to visit. In this overview, we show the types of things you will see when you visit The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky.
The ark is estimated to be the actual size of Noah's original ark. It is huge. Inside you get a feel for the immense structure and what it must have been like for Noah and his family to live amongst all the animals.
There are several life-size dioramas of what things were like for those on the ark. There are also animated talking characters throughout the ark.
Small cages for the little animals and large cages for the bigger animals. You wonder how they handled all the waste from the animals and how they kept the vicious animals from hurting the other animals or the humans?
Another fun thing to do is the virtual reality ride that makes you feel like you are on the ark.
Outside you will find a zoo area with the various types of animals that were on the ark. I loved the kangaroos.
They also have camels you can ride, but when we visited it was a rest day for the camels so I didn't get to do that. They also have several ziplines and one of the ladies in our group zipped.
As you leave the area, you will see a huge rainbow arch that reminds us of God's promise to never destroy the earth by flood again.
Be sure to allow yourself a whole day at the Ark Encounter. There is much to do and see.
Make plans for a two-day adventure and visit the Creation Museum on the same trip. Both are fantastic destinations to visit.
