The song is about the hardships that Yemeni Jews faced after they were expelled from Yemen, leaving on a plane with nothing and arriving to a state that had nothing much to offer at that time. My family fled from Yemen and Israel then was not the Israel of today.

There's so much going on in this song. Dope track, scathing social commentary of how the non-European Jews were treated in early Israeli history, great costumes, and so much feels. This song makes me bop my head and shed a tear at the same time. These ladies are pure talent, and I love their music.

These are Israeli - yemeni singers, their grandparents immigrated from Yemen probably in the early 50 in an israeli operation called "Operation magic carpet" basically to save them, google it. When they arrived life conditions were hard (that's what the song is about), but ultimately today yemeni jews are pretty well integrated into society. So your comment is invalid, since they are in their country.

To anyone who doesn't understand the meaning of the song it is about Israel and how it doesnt compare to Yemen, they are singing about their grandmother's experience on how Yemenite Jews fled to Israel in the 1940's and were put in camps and discriminated against by other Jews. In my eyes Yemenite Jews are so special, especially seeing as they kept proper Hebrew alive and are considered to be the most Jewish of all jews. ❤️

*It’s because the very original Jews were ancient Yemeni tribes (and kingdoms) and the Torah was born and written in ancient Yemen 🇾🇪. Second of all, "Arab" Jews live today live mostly live in Israel, and before Israel's re-establishment they didn't consider Palestine as their home land, they considered Eretz Yisrael as their homeland. Third, Mizrahi Jews were almost never a part of Kibbutzim, and the children were sent to schools and boarding schools with the Parents permission. Fourth, the song is about how Yemenite Jews FLED specifically to ISRAEL, not Palestine, how they were treated as primitive and about Yemenite Children affair. Today, unlike the past, Yemenite Jews are not persecuted or looked down, so your fake sympathy doesn't do anything. Also, Yemenite Jews didn't have tribes, they were just Jews.

Speaking as a Muslim Yemeni, we miss you. Im 31 and when I was young there were still some Jews in my town (Saada). Apparently, the last ones didn't leave until 2015 but I don't remember seeing any past 2006-2007.

Jews in yeman are practically non-existent as yeman prisecuted them and massacred them and forcibly converted their children to islam. There are less than 100 Jews in yeman today after many rescue operations from Israel and the USA because yeman refused to let them immigrate even though they openly admitted to not be able to protect them from Muslim attacks.

Jeremy The Yemeni jews left Yemen by being secretly flown out of Yemen by the Israeli government. With the knowledge of the Yemeni government. There was no reason for that other then the fake white Jews of Israel using the Yemenis as validation for being in Israel by having real Jews there. In Yemen the Jews were living just fine. In many cases side by side with everyone else. Israel has tried to change history by lying that the Yemeni Jews were being percsexuted. But those of us old enough to remember know better.

@@mickey245 Aqui no nordeste, nós temos muitas palavras em arabe e hebraico, por exemplo: alpargatas ou percatas (sandálias, vem de uma palavra árabe), alvíssara ou vissora (em portugues significa boa noticia, בשורה, tem em árabe também). Tambem há algumas tradições judaicas aqui, os velhos quando morrem são enterrados com sudário chamado mortalha (roupas funerarias iguais ao tachrichim dos judeus), não são enterrados em caixões. Ao invés de flores, no interior usamos pedras no tumulo. Ouvi dizer que os judeus também fazem isso. É verdade? Temos muitas coincidências. Eu até fiz um exame de DNA e o exame mostrou que eu sou 24% sephardic jew e 5% ashkenazi jew, hahahaha. Deve ser por isso que sempre gostei da cultura do oriente médio

@@benjamink4874 אל תכעס. השבע לעולם לא יבין את הרעב. . הם מצפים שנשתתף איתם בכאב השואה. אבל הם לא מסוגלים להבין את הכאב של האמהות שגנבו מהם את הילדים. הנושא הזה ירדוף את המדינה עד לתיקון המוסרי או עד לחורבנה. מדינה לא מוסרית אין לה זכות קיום !!!!ט
