A WALK IN HEAVY RAIN ALONG THE PASIG RIVER IN MANILA

It was pouring with rain on many occasions during our stay in the rainy season in Manila. I took it as an opportunity to walk in the rain to document the occasion. I did a severe cold for my efforts however because the small umbrella did not protect me enough.

I have watched dozens and dozens of "walk in the rain" videos, and this is my favorite. What an amazing location and you showed us what you "saw", from children playing ball, a man taking a shower from a rain gutter, small stores, street vendors, homes, flowers, the river, a cathedral that jumped out of nowhere and people going about living in a downpour. All of those "walk in the rain" video makers should see this video first. Every time I watch it I see something I missed. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this.Here in the UK you would never see children enjoying playing in the rain like that.Just to see a wonderful walk in the rain in a place i wouldn't of seen otherwise is fantastic.Thanks.

Thank you for your comment. The rain is considerably warmer than UK rain though, yet I did still get a cold for having spent two hours walking in the rain with just a small umbrella for protection. I did enjoy it however.

@Robert Jesus fucking christ yourself. You're ignorant. Children in the Philippines love playing in the warm rain. It's second nature to them. I myself, cousins and playmates looked forward to taking baths and playing in the rain. Don't make a comment on a subject you know nothing about. It makes you sound stupid.

Beautiful and wonderful rain walk. I am impressed by the tricycles and the number of them. They sure know how to protect against the rain. We have no such vehicles in Ohio, USA. The alleys decorated with gardens and varieties of foliage is breathtaking. A lot of foot traffic in the rain, It seems no-one stays indoors. I am further impressed by the number of open shops along the walk. And the friendly passersby. You're a very lucky man to live in such a community. As a Dutch Australian living in the US in the early 80's I bought 7 acres of land just outside Steamboat Springs. The land was covered under 2mtrs of snow. It certainly is a contrast to the rains of the Philippines.

I listen to all kinda rain sound videos in here but this one is awesome because of the natural sound and whatever is the footwear you are wearing... I believe it is a rubber one. The sound of it makes this video all the more natural. I was born and brought up in Kerala, India. I have done a ton of walking through the rain during the southwestern monsoon there.

I grew up near the Pasig river. As a kid, I love playing outside when it rains. This video brings back childhood memories.

This was a really great video...I really enjoy seeing videos of life in other countries. It gives the viewer a chance to see the unique differences as well as profound similarities of people. Makes me wonder why we ever go to war with each other. Im from the US and I agree with the guy from Britain who said we never see kids playing outside in the rain like that anymore. P.S. those trains are awesome.

In Asian countries, when it rains, it doesn't hold back... :) it rains and rains and rains all day long and a lots of it too... Oh the kids enjoy playing in the rain, because they hardly have anything to entertain themselves with in their homes... So, they are out playing in the rain with their friends. Give him a tablet and you won't see him or her anywhere but in their room.. :) but this is a very nice video... :)

Yes true, the kids love the warm rain. My filipina wife also told me of her childhood playing in the rain. So I thought it was a good idea to capture an aspect of life that is very common in the Philippines. Thanks for watching.

Please use rubber boots next time to avoid your feet getting soaked in floodwater. This will help you avoid leptospirosis that's coming from rats' urine. Imagine when this river overflowed and the water level is as high as the bridge that you can barely see it. I personally experienced it twice. This is a great video and I will be waiting for your next one.😊

Obrigado, muito buen! I was in San Bernardo do Campo for one month in 1989 at VW Brasil who rebuilt my 1969 VW campervan twice at the huge VW factory there at no cost to me! Fantastico! The Vice President put me and my rebuilt VW campervan on a ship from Rio de Janeiro to Salerno in Italy also at no cost to me. Thank you VW Brasil again for your incredible service to me, memories forever.

There's nothing compares to the real rain experience, the scent of the rain is clean filtered by the rain, the temperature is cold and the soothing sound of the raindrops calms your soul and body that it makes you sleepy and go to a good slumber.
