A Wanamaker Organ documentary (c. 1980) with music and remarks by Keith Chapman

Organist Keith Chapman and former curator Henry A. Baecker and his wife Alma discuss the Wanamaker Organ, the world's largest playing musical instrument, and Dr. Chapman plays highlights from his Fanfare and Procession and other works. Also Mr. Baecker shows typical organ pipes and demonstrating them. (Blowing into reed pipes is not recommended!)

During my late teen years, I would go to Wanamaker's on Friday's or Saturdays to get my fix of this Magnificent Instrument when I shopped there. It was an experience almost hard to describe - with goose bumps. So thrilled with this I know own every recording of MR Chapman . He will surely be missed. He was a master at performing on this mammoth instrument .*

Keith Chapman was my sons' great uncle, my husband was Keith's nephew, by blood, and they an uncanny resemblance, and both were musicians, its amazing how far DNA travels

Well, the organ at the Atlantic CIty Convention Hall is the largest. Before too long, it might actually be fully playable! When that happens, I will finally get to experience it in the flesh. I LOVE THE WANAMAKER! I have to hear that live as well.
