Maelstrom is a Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (HoMM3) map included in the Horn of the Abyss mod (HotA), with a reputation for having an unpredictable and sometimes very punishing start, thanks to all starting heroes having Diplomacy and many opportunities to rapidly strengthen.

hey norovo nice video! I want to recommend a game that i think you gonna like, the game is called against the storm, is a city builder/strategy/roguelike with a fantasy theme. It's a pretty interesting game you should check.

Love having your games running while cooking ! And hearing your thought proces, cos im to lazy to think about eveyrthing like you do, im more of a ''uuuh shiny thing''... click, aaand then i lost one of my towns cos i didn't pay attention. This is now my favorite channel on classic HOMMs. I'm following several other ones, but this is a gem for me since I came across it, thanks to YT's recommendations! Nice strategic play, nice thinking out loud. And that's great so many content is left to see here, as I've just come here! Thanks!

What an fantastic playthrough, the way you narrate keeps everything clear and keep us hooked at what's going, witch is pretty dificult with a lot of things happening at the same time. Also, amazing showcase of what you could do, i would have stucked with Vampires until i got a 200 stack, and probably died after lol, you're amazing

Resurrection is so broken. You should do a challenge where you cant use any form of resurrection/animate dead

Did you know that undead are immune to the collateral effect of the liches' death cloud? When fighting the dwarves, you seemed to dilberately shoot the stack of dwarves indirectly so as not to affect the vampire lords and ghost dragons, which deals less damage than a direct shot...

Just finished this map in one session (Impossible diff). Managed to get my hands on Chain lightning, pendant of negativity and Orb of Vulnerability. From that point every fight was easily handled. Played as Gunnar and rolled Fortress for my starting town.

I never played Hota but if this is base game behaviour, it is very likely that a red hero had the grail with them when you killed them off at the digging site. When you do, the grail is irrevocably lost for that game.

watched the series, very nice. I could beat this map on 180% only "cheating", that is, replaying fights and moves that didn't end up well, because very soon the enemies were attacking with strong large armies (dozens of tier 7 creatures and insane stats). I see you were very lucky specially in the beggining, out of all the heroes to be fred from prision the one with djinies was the best power stack, and worked well with broken clone, when I played I got the 100 rogues at south :/. Was fun, but maybe one day I'll give a try again once I forget the map!

Interestingly enough the ring of oblivion counter the elixir of life. During your fight with Ash I didn't see it do the healing effect that it normally does or is this do to the terrain effect of the Necro castle?

Ring of Oblivion doesn't stop healing, just resurrections, so it definitely should not.
