I'll be watching this again. Work is draining with all the overtime because we're short staffed and staff keeps getting sick and it begins to feel like the movie ground hog day. We keep having the same week over and over again. Anyway I heard everything you said before from you and other people but I need to hear this over and over again so I get this in my head and start implementing it in my life. So I feel like I'm controlling my life instead of my life controlling me. Great video.

Hi Michelle, I am a primary school Languages Other Than English teacher in Western Australia and have been watching your vlogs since you were teaching year two! I have always thoroughly enjoyed your videos especially your classroom vlogs. You always have amazing ideas and tips and tricks and now I am loving all the ‘educational’ techie videos and of course your podcast with Bridget! I have gained many organisational ideas and tips as well as digital organisation tips that have been a lifesaver for me. I'm really struggling right now to manage myself as I am basically all over the place (office work, spending time with my 7 years old cartoon, my paper crafting hobby/ side hustle, my dragon boat fitness regime etc etc.). I’ve definitely used the advice from Bridget and yourself to batch plan and prepare lessons. While I’m an Apple user outside of the classroom (the ability to scan into Notes is incredible for record keeping and paper management) having Google Drive and Tasks on our school Chromebooks and phone means I can plan anywhere then schedule time to batch making copies, gathering resources, etc.

Ahh, that's great! I'm so happy you've been able to utilize batching because it saves SO much time! Also, yes! I'm also an Apple user but have come to love Google too... plus it's easy to access on ALL devices.

We use Google within our school board. I love the integration of Calendar, Tasks and Keep when I’m in my email. I can access right from the desktop in my room and have added them to my phone for access on the go anywhere. Seamless integration.

I love your videos. They are basically a 360 degree of everything we need. I also love how you take the time and really edit your video so that they are enjoyable to watch. The content is good but the editing totally helps. I notice you get many mini clips or quotes from different shows or references (Mainly The Office). What program do you use for that. Thanks

Michelle, you are so inspiring. I love watching all of your videos. I'm really working on my google calendar. Do you use an actual planner or do you only use google calendar? I've always used a yearly planner that I love and I'm trying to transition to the google planner. Thank you for all that you do.

Hi Shelby! Thank you so much for watching my videos... I really appreciate it! 🥰 Great question! I used my digital planner for all my lesson plans (and other teaching related tasks) while I was in the classroom. Now that I'm not in the classroom, I don't use the Digital Teacher Planner in full but I still use some of the templates like the monthly planning pages and the task tracker. But, I use Google Calendar for keeping track of events and dates. Hopefully that helps! Thanks again! 🖤

Thanks to you I love Google keep and Google calendar. I would love to see how Tasks works with them. I don't need any more "reminders" if you will, so does tasks work with calendar without adding extra reminders? Thanks for all of the organizing tips. Your slides calendar has saved my school/home balance.

Quick Google Calendar question: I have been trying to share events with my work, personal, and husband's calendars and now have items showing up on my calendars multiple times. What can I do to fix it so only one of each item is visible on all three calendars?

First, I love all your videos, thank you for all you do! I have a question about your meal prepping you mentioned and briefly showed in your video today. I love the idea of doing that, but I’m weird about leftovers, especially after like three days lol. Do those hibachi-style chicken and vegetables you made really last five days? I would love to meal prep on Sunday and have all my lunches ready for the week. But I’m worried that by Thursday or Friday they would not be good! Any advice?

Thank you so much Michelle! 🥰 Hmm... that's a tricky question because everyone has different preferences 😂 But, I make the hibachi chicken and veggies on Monday and they are still good (to me) on Friday when I eat them! I don't notice a big difference between the batch I eat on Friday compared to the one I eat on Tuesday (obviously the bowl I eat on Monday is the best because it's fresh). I would say to try it once and see 🥰

I’m from Oregon but I have relatives in Nevada they get picky about how you say their state. It’s Nevada where the first a is pronounced with the long a sound. :)

Love your videos and all your tips and strategies. I got a curious question though how many calendars do you use? Do you use your own digital planner and Google calendar ? If yes how do you separate all your tasks- does it get confusing? Just trying to prioritize myself and be more efficient.

Thank you so much Debbie! Great question! Personally, I used my Digital Teacher Planner far more often when I was teaching because it was an easy way to keep my school responsibilities and personal responsibilities separate. Now, I use mostly Google Calendar for all my events but I still use some of the templates from the Digital Teacher Planner like the monthly planning page and task tracker. Hopefully that makes sense!

I will consider making a video on teacher burnout but I also have some podcast episodes all about it over on my podcast with Bridget called Teaching to the TOP... you might find those episodes helpful! Also, my parents did move to Texas but they aren't in Austin. They are actually closer to Waco but fly out of the Austin airport so I drove them in order to save them from paying for parking at the airport!
