that research facility/hospital pickup was amazing! and thats the places where you sometimes can find stuff thats youll never see anywhere else! some real oddball scientific electronics! ps: you ben are an inspiration, 1 day youre whole property is filled with stuff and it looks like 1 man would take forever to process it all by himself but then a few days later the whole area is empty and it looks like you do this for a hobby. very high work ethics/discipline. keep it up and thank you for the insights. "keep scrapping, have fun".

Just imagine the copper and brass recovery you could get if you had a hammer mill or granulator from all those plug ends you cut off and all the remotes too
@ZXLNT9 ай бұрын
You see he cuts the wires long onto the plug, so that there is extra rubber from the plug left on the wire? Sneaky, im sure all adds up

Those rubber cases you got from the school, you might be able to get a couple of bucks for the box of them at one of those phone accessory kiosks you find in shopping centres.

You've had a very long day Ben and it's easy to see how exhausted you are. You really could use a extra set of hands. Get you some much needed rest Ben. A mini vacation would do you the world of good and you don't have to go anywhere. Maybe you can check yourself into a hotel room and spend a whole day just resting !

Yes that Atari flashback will be loaded with a few games. Not familiar with that exact version but plug it into your av on the tv and you'll soon see how many games it has loaded on. No swapping cartridges and mucking around. So many cool gadgets available to enhance retro consoles these days. You can get sd card modules that plug into cd drives ribbon cable slot and have every game preloaded up on a tiny SD card ready to play without swapping any disc's at your finger tips. The entire library of games for your retro system. So cool and makes it possible to own every game without spending a millon bucks sourcing the rare pricey originals.

My closest yard, 20 minutes away, pays crappy for everything. For example, insulated wire is .75/lb, no matter grade. Also, last time I went to take a couple hundred pounds of clean aluminum siding, they didn't wanna budge on price, even though they advertise they'll pay more if you have large quantities over 100lbs. Plus, the guy working the scales b!tched because I brought so much & they didn't have room. 😂 so I packed up my stuff. But the other 2 yards I like to go to when I have enough stocked up are an hour drive, one way. 1:14:01

Hey Ben, got a question for you. I manage an automotive parts company and we currently throw in the dumpster automotive A/C compressors and cooling fan assemblies. How many would I have to accumulate in order to make it worthwhile to take to a scrapyard and should I tear them down before hand to extract the copper coils myself and is there anything else worthwhile in them?

I bet any low income family would def liked for the school to give them a tv. So much waste in the world we have gotten to the point to where we're throwing away good stuff
@jonglewongle34389 ай бұрын
Good point. But TVs are also things of increasing obscelense. Even with those TVs shown here you are still a behind-the-times wally with extremely limited apps. They are now retailing TVs with KZfaq, Netflix, facebook, and whatever other crap [ but which people nevertheless drool over ] pre-programmed into them. They cost an arm and a leg, but new TVs were always expensive, and you' most likely have to somehow register 100 points of ID with the device to access it, because of course they want to track you, but such is the new standard in TVs.
