If it were up to me, there would be a whole Pirates of the Caribbean movie about a shipful of Captain Barbossas. Two solid hours of Geoffrey Rush shouting and laughing non-stop. It would rake in billions. This is my proof of concept.

The ending to part 2 when Barbossa walks down the steps and reveals himself as their new captain was one of the best endings in movie history. Still remember the roar of the crowd and the chill it sent down my spine when I saw it in the theatres.

Jack Sparrow never felt like a pirate. He felt more like a rogue who couldn't decide on a profession. Barbossas on the other hand is so much pirate it starts to spread to the surrounding cast.
