In this video you can watch me clean the whole house from top to bottom before we go away to Cornwall for the week. Because there’s nothing worse than coming home to a messy house after you’ve been on holiday! I also have a ramble about parenting and growing up messy. I hope you enjoy!

It is really refreshing to see someone who is struggling and overcoming! We all know what a clean house looks like, but getting it there when you're not a perfect person is the issue. Thank you for walking us through what works for you. I know it helps me!

You are so fun. I am lying here, trying to find the energy to get up and clean, and getting pissed off on your behalf that people think they have the right to criticize you. You are clearly trying to raise decent children and have a happy, clean home. Thank you!

I'm not sure why you showed up in my feed. I'm so glad you did. I'm in the southern part of the USA. I'm a lot older than you. When I was your age, I had two small girls and worked full time. I was always overwhelmed but, for a different reason. My house was always clean because people pop in without warning and I couldn't handle anyone having a low opinion of me. While everyone thought I was handling everything I was really screaming inside and falling apart. When my marriage fell apart no one was more surprised than me. Apparently, I was so busy taking care that everything was so perfect I quit paying any attention to him. He found someone who would. That was 32 years ago. I still feel sad about it. We co-parented our girls, both remarried eventually, and share our grandchildren. We are friends now but, it was a long road. I love how you give yourself forgiveness. That was unheard of in my day. You do you. You are lovely. Your children look well cared for. Don't let someones opinion hurt you.

When I was a young married working mother with 3 kids...I used to run myself ragged trying to keep the house clean..my mom would say.. "You've got too much stuff you need to get rid of some of it... I hated when she said that..I was attached to my stuff & didn't want to part with it..Finally I saw what she saw & came up with the idea of putting stuff away in storage totes in my basement...my house looked bare to me & I didn't like it at first..I love to display pretty things around my house..but cleaning & moving things that don't necessarily need to be on display..or toys that wound up all over in every room was so overwhelming & consumed so much time..So I put most of it away.. Especially the toys..I left out a few.. after awhile I'd put those away & bring out different toys..not having toys all over in every room was much easier & the kids appreciated seeing a few items they haven't seen in awhile..oh I didn't tell them because there'd be resistance..I observed the toys they played with the least and began to put them away gradually..They didnt notice..This system of putting our stuff away changed my life..It was then that I realized my mom's comment wasn't a dig she was full of wisdom & was helping me..

Opinions are like bums. Everyone has them and they all stink. That being said…sweetie, you are doing a fantastic job. We do the best we can with what we got and under the circumstances. We had 7 children and the house was never completely clean cuz it always seemed the kids were always right behind me undoing what I’d just done. But I love my children and I always let them know that even to this day. So don’t beat yourself up. You are amazing.

Please don't change. You are young and yet you are so wise. It's so refreshing. I'm 60 years old. I suffer from ADHD and all the additional trappings that come along with that. I don’t think it’s that simple to teach kids to tidy after themselves, I don’t think it’s fair to make kids miserable and scared to play and have fun. My grandchildren trash their house too, I do try and persuade my daughter not to buy so many toys, I think they get overwhelmed and don’t know what to play with, but it’s only for a short time, they aren’t kids for long. 😢

If you don’t CARE what these mean people say you take away all their power! Just do not let their comments rankle - fluff them off your strong shoulders with a flick & a wave! “Children are playing and imagining and being kids” - you are so right - let them be kids! They learn by example - but each child is different - let them be who they are! 😊❤

They’re children and should be allowed to be so! As long as you’re teaching them life skills all along, you can still allow them their childhoods. When I was a teacher, I hated assigning too much homework. The kids had been at their “jobs” all day and needed to be children when they got home. And don’t forget most of all to teach them that Jesus loves them! And you! ❤

When I had all my young ones running around I gave them a clean paintbrush and a very small bowl of water. I told them they could help mom by painting the wall. They dipped the brushes on the water and painted our walls. I finished my room ,looked at the wall and told them it was wonderful. They loved it and it kept them right beside me but out of the chemicals. I don't know if any of my ideas help but you seem like a lovely person and I have little tips and tricks to distract while they still feel like they are helping. Also I was a preschool teacher and a life coach. I have learned alot over the years. I believe this channel will be a help to many people!

When it comes to instilling good cleaning habits for children that will last throughout their life, being a role model and showing them how to accomplish things is much more important than having strict standards. Your kids getting involved in the cleaning voluntarily is a perfect way to illustrate how your behaviors are positively influencing them. As they get older, that's when implementing chores and clean-up expectations are more important for the long term success for you all. I'm glad for all your commentary and it helps me reflect on my childhood as well as how my parenting can/should be with regards to household maintenance.

I just wanted to thank you for your very real videos and putting yourself out there to help others - you're amazing! I love your voiceovers - very natural - it's like listening to a wise friend with nothing but positivity and insight to share. You make so many people feel less alone (and less guilty) in their cleaning struggles. I find it so challenging to keep on top of daily cleaning/tidying, it very quickly builds up and becomes overwhleming... not knowing where to start and so avoiding it - you motivate me to do better! Executive dysfunction is something I'm going to need to do more research on. You are doing a wonderful job, and what an amazing mum you are to your boys (loving your approach to parenting too).

OMG!!! I don't very often comment on videos but I'm just sick of watching good people, who take the time to try & motivate others, being berated by these anonymous perfect parents!! I'm in my 70's, I have 4 grown up children who believe it or not never had set chores. They all now have their own homes & are well rounded intelligent adults. One daughter is a nurse who manages the renal unit at a local hospital; my son is an electrical contracts manager; another daughter is in charge of admin at a local company & my youngest daughter is the director of a pharmaceutical company. Between them, they have brought up families & taken care of homes all without having set chores & schedules for cleaning during their childhoods...I allowed them to be children. They had rules about being kind & respectful & they have carried that through to the next generation. Keep doing what you are doing!!!

There was no internet when I was bringing up my children. How I wish there had been! I would have found vlogs like this a godsend. Re tidying up, I suppose we all have to tidy up to some extent, but it should never come before children’s happiness. I read once “your kids won’t remember the days the house was super-tidy, but they will remember the days you took time out to play with them, take them to the park, etc”.

I relate so much to your childhood. Not because my mom was super tidy, because she wasnt, but I was expected to be better at being tidy and organized and felt ashamed that I got distracted when being made to clean my room. I'm in my 40s with 2 teenagers and they're both learning to clean up their spaces, but I still feel ashamed by my extremely tidy British in laws (I'm American and live in England)....not because they say anything to me about the clutter, but because I know they're thinking it....because I'm also thinking it. I'm a lot better than I used to be, but it's overwhelming. Things get so messy so quickly after I've cleaned, even though my kids are no longer small. It's frustrating.

Love these videos! We're expecting our 3rd child, due in just over a week now. I've been struggling so much lately with trying to stay on top of things because it's so uncomfortable at this point. But your videos are really encouraging to not get overwhelmed, and take things one step at a time. And after baby comes, I'm definitely going to start implementing the methods you use, because cleaning has always been my biggest struggle, and I've always felt like a failure because of it. Hope y'all enjoy your vacation!

There's so many mean people in this world. Love to hear your positive outlook. Also, I have ADHD and my executive dysfunction has been horrendous for a good while. This gave me the motivation to deep clean my bathroom. Thank you!

I have just found your channel, and what a breath of fresh air its so nice to see someone showing the messy side of their personality ( I have always been the same) . My kids are grown up and left and its just me and I feel so overwhelmed sometimes that I am paralysed, No idea where to start so nothing gets done. Today I have started on my tidying journey and will be watching your videos to help keep me motivated. Thank you

I could listen to you talk for hours, because your understanding of being a messy person, and clutter, and how things WILL get messy again but that is not a moral failing - I love how non-judgemental you are! I was just watching the video of you cleaning your aunties house and loved the part where you say you don’t expect her to keep it up! I almost teared up! Thank you for being so kind to yourself and others, and teaching your kids how to clean and tidy in a gentle and supportive way! Wish I’d had that growing up!

I absolutely love love, love, love your videos. I never knew there was a word for struggling to do any task. Executive dysfunction. I could think about wanting to take a walk around my neighbourhood, and that just doesn't happen. Cleaning, it's this huge chore that weighs on my mind. (I grew up with a single mom who didn't encourage to clean by example, or ask I clean the home on a consistent basis. (My brain never thought to clean up by taking initiative..?) We lived very messily my entire life. Sadly, I continue to live just as messy as ever..) I'm doing a lot better when I set out with a determined intention to clean the kitchen or tidying up the living room. In fact, I'm slowly cleaning the house now while trying to find your longer videos. (While TikTok's short video's has gotten so popular with people of all ages to the point other social media platforms try introducing this media format for their webpages, I don't like videos like that). I love your longer videos, and listening to you share pieces of your life. I feel like we would make good friends. While I have my dogs I treat as children, you have your actual children. I'm always supporting you!! - Mary from Smithville, Texas

The “criticism” you talked about in this video is exactly why I never want anyone to come over for a visit! My sisters haven’t been to my house in many years and one of them will still make comments about how it’s not clean. This is very hurtful to me and so it was very comforting to hear you just “blow off” the horrible things that people say about you. I feel sad for the perfect people who have to criticize and judge others to keep themselves feeling good. God is the only judge! I am in such a better mental health place now than I was a couple weeks ago when I found your videos. I think you are amazing and I’m so grateful that you are courageous and kind enough to share your stories! My goal is to someday be as diligent as you are about getting my house cleaned up. I am so looking forward to you decluttering video! I am a true hoarder and I am still having a lot of trouble getting rid of things. Especially things that remind me of my son and mother who have passed. I have SO MUCH STUFF that I need to go through. That is the biggest hurdle for me worsening my anxiety and depression because of the overwhelming amount of STUFF! I just don’t know how or where to begin! Thank you again for your help and I wish many blessings for you and your beautiful family ❤

You are allowed to hoard and clutter up the place... there are special wavers for mothers who have lost children! If anyone disagrees, send them to me for a good telling off! When you feel better ...I remember someone said that it helps to just tidy stuff and put it way , then it is not so overwhelming and you don't have to get rid of things that are precious to you . I hoard too ( a family thing) so I know that many heart breaks hide in muddles.

I should be cleaning but I enjoyed watching and listening to you instead. I agree nothing worse than coming home to a dirty house. I too prefer not using a mop in the bathrooms. You're doing great as s mom and caretaker of your family but you know this already. New subscriber from Tennessee USA.
