The Quirky Car Collector's Dream Garage. It's a new Late Brake Show Car Cave episode! This garage full of four wheeled (and two) treasures attracted Jonny because firstly it was quirky quality over quantity; when was the last time you saw a Jordan Civic next to a Lambo Espada and a Maserati Indy? And a Fiat 126P next to a 1980s Prelude 4WS, next to an Audi RS4 outside?

Hi Johnny, was watching this episode and I'm 99.9 % sure that's my dads old Espada. Had the exact same phone and sold it with engine issues. He bought it off an Arab prince in 1988. I believe it was originally Green and the prince had it re painted (Rolls Royce colour I think). My dad let me and my brother drive it, we were 17 and 18 at the time, very lucky boys lol.. I've sent the link to this episode to my dad.

@@bluetitan20 my dad has watched the episode and confirmed it is his old car. I have contacted the owner and he confirmed the Espada was originally Green, which also verified it’s my dads old car.

@@parrysgarage7735 I think the Prelude is my favourite car in the collection, when I was a kid I was obsessed with them, such a sleek design and the 4WS was very clever. What a shame that underneath looks bad, I hope there is something you can do to save it, especially with the strong connection you have to it being your Mother's car. I have a friend who has just restored his own 4WS Prelude similar to this one.

Amazing to see my old Fiat 126. I was wondering where it ended up! I bought the orange 126 from a Polish guy called Jan in Berkshire after he brought it to England, I then took it to Kent and I got it registered with the DVLA and was using it as my daily around Tunbridge Wells. I can’t remember who I sold it to, but it used to run like a Swiss watch. Amazing little car. I’ve had several since. Amazing to see it again, keep up the good work!

I love that you said the dog was on the wrong side on the left hand drive car. I’m in the US and drive a right hand drive car. Everyone says to me “your on the wrong side”. And I say nope I’m actually on the right side.

Lovely cars. That RS4 is just the best. Mums are great. Mine at the age of 60, PX'd her Rover 220 GTI for a brand new EP3 Type R Civic. Not quite what the Honda dealer was thinking she needed for a car. She owned it for many years.

Studying the bill of sale for the Maserati, Steve’s Dad traded a Range Rover and a Jensen FF + 2 grand for the Maserati in 1971. About the same time my folks bought a 4 bedroom house in Cheshire for 6 grand. Nice to be brought up with those kinds of machines. The Apple don’t fall far from the tree.

Johnny is like a John Peel of the car would. Even the owners of these cars are interesting people. My Mrs would have me on a beef hook in a cow shed lol.Well to be fair I got an xr2 she was into it. Your mum sounds cool. My mum had an evo 2. Loved being left to school. Never got picked up though. So the girls in the convent school never got to see lol

I thought that was a quirky addition to the stats boxes that came up with each car... The 0-62mph time for the Polski Fiat was quoted as "A long time"...!! I also noted the reg plate on the 911 as being LJ04 LJK - nothing was mentioned but, I wondered if it happened to be in 'homage' to legendary Car Magazine journalist LJK Setright...? 🤔

Such a wonderful eclectic mix of cars and bikes. 70's Italian supercars and GT cars have a style like nothing else. The Jordan Civic is interesting, I actually have a Sparco jacket which Is a replica of Damon Hills Jordan F1 racing overalls. Love the Fiat 126 as well. My Aunti had an air cooled 126 and later the water cooled 126BIS hatchback. The little MK2 Clio 172 Cup caught my eye. When I had my second MK2 Clio which was a Y reg phase 2 I was invited to a dealership for the Megane 2 and Clio 172 Cup launch. I ended up with the Mégane but I did have a guy I was giving advanced driver training who owned a Clio 182 in this shade of blue. I think the MK2 RS Clio represents the last real hot hatch bargain at the moment.

What a fabulous collection. Steve, you have a great taste in cars and you buy for all the right reasons. Cars are all about emotions and should be nothing to do with money. I’d rather watch videos on a collection like this than see a KZfaqr’s garage full of emotionless hypercars any day. Thank you for sharing.

This is exactly the kind of eclectic mixture of old chod I would buy if I had the money. Some V8s, some 4-pots, some exotics and some totally eccentric oddballs. Absolutely brilliant, what a lucky couple to share cars as a hobby.

I was a salesman at Street lane Honda in Leeds when the Jordan Vti was launched. It was an amazing spec car seeing it sitting in the showroom.

That's a Manta GTE seat from a late Exclusive not Astra GTE. Same design, but the piping was red on the Manta GTE Exclusive and White on the mk1 Astra GTE. tis amazing what you remember when your inner geek is prompted hah.

This guy is really cool twice over. He's got a great taste in cars (and fiancées apparently!), but I really respect how many of his cars have a direct family connection as well. He's not just out hunting collector bait. He looks for cars that matter to him personally.

My wife had a 1978 Fiat 126 when we first met. I thought it was terrible at the time, noisy, flat out at sixty, poor brakes, stiff steering, but it served its purpose. Sold it in the mid 1980's for very little money. Wish we still had it.

If Mr Parry was 6 in 1971 he's the same age as me, sadly our family car was a Mk1 Escort 1.3 XL, still thought my dad was cool as it had a tiny leather trimmed steering wheel and a rev counter. IIRC Parry is one of the most common North Wales & Liverpool names. Steve seems like a sound bloke who knows his stuff

@@parrysgarage7735 You are spot on 57, I guess your not that far from me, as I live just off the Wirral. You are so right that the memories mean so much, in 1977 I went with my father to the Pyrenees in his Marina TC (don't laugh) where we spent 2 months mapping geological fault lines. some of my best memories as a child. I've obviously not done quite as well as you though I do have a Porsche and a Jaguar + I'm trialling a sort of retirement. Once again you have a fantastic & interesting collection of cars and bikes. And that wonderful view 👍

I learnt to drive & passed my test in a Civic Jordan. As a 17 year old it felt like a supercar compared to Micra's everyone else was in. Good times.

Pre camera phones sadly so i have no pics but just seeing your car brought back a very happy time of my life. Thank you for sharing your collection with us.

Brilliant. The best collections are interesting random choices. Some people become very fixated on one make. My favourite has to be the 126. Had one many years ago along with an integrale 8v, very different cars, strangely the 126 got way more attention.

Yep auto Espada used the Borg Warner gearbox but the Jensen used the Chrysler Torqueflite box

19/7 22 Get the Prelude inside before the weather changes - have an Aerodeck 2L Exi ALB Auto from same era -1988. White Hondas from that time seem to succumb to tin worm earlier than the 3 other colours available then. Mitsubushi during that period also had a 4W Steer model too. Later there were similar shaped Del Sol Civic cousins in red, & another in Torquoise, name escapes me, limited editions available too. Used to see 80's Hondas when ambling around Europe in pre Covid times, so parts may be available out there somewhere. Come to think of it saw many in US & Canada too. Owner's Clubs could help too. Careful what you wish for !

Such a fantastic collection of cars. I really wish I had a fella with an interest in cars. I had to start up my own Mini Owners Club so as to mix with others who love cars as much as me. I've been a petrol head all of my life and just wish for someone to talk motors with.

I'd love to be a fly in the car when what they think they see is a dog driving a Fiat 126 😆,& if there transfixed on the dog they might not see there's another person in the car, now that would be a good conversation to listen to 😂.

Very jealous! That's a very fancy man cave with some really cool cars, especially the Maserati in the lambo. You can just imagine hairy chest and the smell of brute. Really like the Honda civic and he's got to save that prelude.

@@parrysgarage7735 If you're struggling for parts in Europe there's a guy called Honda Jason in the USA that might be able to get any parts that are difficult. Looking forward to the Maserati drive and all your other cars. Hopefully one day. I'm glad you didn't go for a modern lambo/audi And went for the escort instead. Sorry not escort 😂👊

Totally agree with you on the Renault Jonny, I’d probably never buy one but it’s definitely the nicest era. I also owned one of those preludes too and would like it back, great little car.

When the camera panned to those two cars I was waving at the screen like a kid. The prelude was my first car back in the 90's and I currently have a 182 Cup in the driveway. Steve has excellent taste in cars.
