Having a low voice doesn't mean being a bad singer. She sings exactly the way she does in her studio version if you ask me but yeah you can hardly hear her because she has a low voice, she's not the best singer, even Selena says she isn't. But still that was AMAZING.

+DeadSolve EXACTLY? Excuse me but in the studio version she doesn't sound like she has been holding her breath under water for like 30 minutes after finishing a verse. There is no high note, not a very long period of time 'singing' but still she still gasps for air after almost every word!

Alvaro Pizarro she still sounds the same, same notes but not the same air. Have you ever heard about something called stress ? I already can hear you say "Well she was supposed to be in the business for a year at that time and so it wasn't the first time she performed on stage" yes true, but isn't still stressful ? But anyway, how she sounded and how she sounds today are two different things.

At 2:55 she hit a really decent and powerful C5. It was overshadowed by the shit amount of backtrack and backup singers that were overpowered. I think she did good, not great but good. I wish she would sing this song now, I'm curious to see how these awesome C5 studio belts would sound with Selena's current vocal ability.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this performance, i can guarantee the sound technician plugged a 1/4 Jack cable in instead of a M/F XLR and thats why you can't hear her (music tech student)... plus it just shows that she doesn't lipsync

People need to understand the difference between a bad singer and someone with a weaker voice. Selena is the latter. She can't project her voice that loudly but her singing is still great, in my opinion. She is in tune, after all it is her song. I love her and if she was such a bad singer, she wouldn't have made a career in it.

yes! this is true... Selena hasn't a strong voice like for example Demi, but it doesn't mean she isn't a good singer... Her voice is so beautiful :) She deserve to be a singer :)

She is always a bit too humble... very emotional... shy on stage... never too confident about her voice (thanks to the constant stream of hateful comments on the internet) .... We're not seeing a performance of someone with weaker voice here... Her voice is perfect, which just got a little shaky here due to her shyness... She performs much comfortably better on her tours... 'cause she's just in front of her fans there..without the fear of constantly being judged.

thanks to everyone that appreciated her voice under this video. she’s singing very well in this video. she’s def not screaming in the chorus SHE’S SINGING. also that high note in the and was NOT her if you listen closely. she sounded really good in here. i love her so much she doesn’t deserve this hate.

Si se dan cuenta al principio ella no suelta mucho su voz, esta muy nerviosa, pero después va agarrando mucha confianza y logra entonar perfecto y hasta pareciera que toda su pena y nerviosismo se va porque se suelta de una manera increíble! I don't think vocally she was weak. A year without rain is a simple and soft song and idk why the sound producers couldn't raise her microphone volume or fix it to where you'd hear the lower parts of the song better . I'll Tell you who was off tho, that background singer who came out of blend at the end😂😂. I know she was supposed to take the higher note but she just ruined the simplicity of it in my opinion they should've had someone with a lighter tone do it
