do you release to avoid speed loss during the dirt corner or is it just steering movements? i cant improve my time because of the speed loss

there is a gear-up just before the turn starts, you wanna land smooth in the downhill beforehand so you can gather enough speed to gear up... it's important not to steer whilst gearing up else the car downshifts before upshifting and slows down
