One more thing you may have overlooked and need to be aware of is the pitot tube heat not on. I saw your temperature gauge was 2C which is close to freezing.The pitot tube measures the flow of air into the opening at the end of the tube and provides the pilot with airspeed. Pitot heat is turned on by the pilot anytime ice is suspected in order to melt any which might freeze over the tube and create an erroneous reading or no reading at all on the airspeed indicator.

Thank you for mentioning it. I must have overlooked it in this video. At landing it was even 0 degrees. In the checklist the pitot heat is checked for malfunction, but not mentioned anymore afterwards. I added it. In my last flight with the Lancair it was also around freezing temperatures. Here I mentioned it in the video and activated the pitot heat. I am sure that it is fully simulated in the A2A Cessna 182. If the flight had lasted longer or I had flown higher, the altimeter, vertical speed indicator and airspeed indicator would surely have given wrong readings. Because you mentioned it, I will certainly be more attentive to it in the future. Thanks!

Themton Irani Thank you for the compliments! I make my videos for reference when I didn't use the aircraft for a long time and at the same time I hope I can help other people. The subtitles are easier to follow. Certainly with the more complex ones.

Thank you! If I must choose one GA airplane, it would be the A2A Cessna 182. A bit more complex and a very accurate simulation. If you want to, you can even buy a good GPS like the GTN 750. Thanks for the post!

At 16:54 you kept your mixture fully rich instead of leaning it back out again. Doing that a lot can foul your spark plugs, and I can assure you, your engine could possibly fail, or your magnetos would need to be cleared.
@GuntherWillems
@GuntherWillems 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. I thought that after clearance for take-off and crossing the line from the runway I could keep the mixture at full rich. The A2A airplane simulation will foul the plugs like in real life if I keep it too long on rich. It's simulated. Thanks for the comment.

As usual wonderfully done Gunther! I have a problem in flaring the aircraft before touch down when only looking forward ( even i have rudder pedals, yoke and throttles) My dad ( former real flight teacher) told me, that it's good to have a reference view to the left, to have an objective impression of hight above the runway. Well,guess, i have to train it over and over. Cheers Ingo

Altenholz Thanks for your support! Well, my flaring wasn't good in my 2 c182 videos. So your tip is welcome. In the meantime I'm better, but a twist rudder it isn't helpful. Thanks for the tip from your father. I will certainly keep it in mind in my next flights. Not bad that you have a private teacher. :-) Thanks!

When I learned how to fly a real Cessna , full flaps were never used for landing , 18 or 20 degrees were enough . As taught by my instructor ! U keep more speed and it 's much more confy to flare .As far as U have long runways ... U should try !!

I have tried it out with 20 % flaps. What are they saying? Speed is life and the landing was so smooth that I wasn‘t sure if I was already landed or not. Great. 👍

How to do clear out the magnetos if one is jumping around. My left one jumps when I am doing a run up. Any answer on how to clear the plugs
@GuntherWillems
@GuntherWillems 4 жыл бұрын
When the engine is hot enough, throttle up at high rpm to see if it clears the plug. Otherwise replace the spark plugs in the maintenance hanger (shift+7)

Nice video, and very helpful. I just bought this aircraft yesterday and I was shocked to discover that there is no tutorial flight included with it! I have a few questions you might be able to help me with. 1. I have a lot of trouble with the aircraft banking to the left all the time. I've tried calibrating my joystick but it doesn't fix the problem. 2. I use Ezdok camera addon. I'm not sure if you use it, but it seems to conflict with the viewing system, especially external views, when doing the walkaround. Clicking on the walkaround view spots is giving me the wrong views. Do you know how to fix this? 3. I can't seem to get my nose wheel to steer when taxiing. I only seem to have rudder control. Is this normal?
@GuntherWillems

Thanks for the nice comment! Most airplane add-ons don't have flight tutorials in the package.1. In the beginning I had the same problem, but my flightstick was defect. That's why my first video's are unstable at take-off and landing. 2. I don't use Ezdok. I try to have a minimum of add-ons that have an impact on the simulator. Each time Prepar3D has a new version you have to wait until all these add-ons are compatible. But I am curious for the similar product 'FSFX Packages ChasePlane' that will be released in the beginning of next year 3. I only steer the airplane on the ground with the rudder pedals. It is strange that it doesn't work for you. I don't think there is a parameter for this in FSX or P3D. You could see if other non A2A airplanes have the same problem? Other A2A airplanes if you have that? You could always ask it in the official forum. They always help. a2asimulations.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=121&sid=fee9a5c8364006926d7b4b25e7094e97

Neal McCullough its called propellar torque, apply a tad bit of right rudder and ur good xp tutorial u can find on a2a's youtube channel. They have all the plane info on the advertisement for the plane. and for nose steering, like on the real thing u have to apply divertical brakes to help steer the plane, and theoretically if u taxi at the proper 1200 rpms the pulling back on the yoke would tilt the nose up putting less weight on the nose wheel allowing it to turn easier, though i jst thought of that now and havent tried it. watch a2a's tutorial comercial thing, it sells the plane and lets u know all the basics. online you can find tutorials online to make ezdock work and i know my friends got it working, but i dont have it so idk how

sadly this is the only addon that i own that has zero bugs that inhibit the plane other then maybe having to restart the simulator before flying the a2a plane if i flew anything before.

How did you get the camera to not move as the plane is moving? The head movement effect is still in this video.
@GuntherWillems

Normally I only use the hat switch on the flight stick to turn the head of the pilot and the keyboard combinations from the simulator: up: SHIFT + ENTER down: SHIFT + BACKSPACE back: CTRL + ENTER forward: CTRL + BACKSPACE left: CTRL + SHIFT + BACKSPACE right :CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER reset view: CTRL + SPACEBAR Some people use software like ezdoc or an IR tracking device.

Who you make the flight route ?As there is no fmc in this aircraft
@GuntherWillems
@GuntherWillems 4 жыл бұрын
Some possibilities: You can make a flight plan directly in the simulator or by using the default GPS installed in the airplane or you can buy the complex GPS like the Flight1 GTN 750/650 that has almost the whole GPS implemented or you can use an external flight plan editor like PlanG, Little Navmap, ... to make a flight plan and load it into the simulator.

I wish you would speak more throughout your videos sir, comments and instructions and the like. The subtitles are great and effective, but perhaps a verbal interaction would work to reinforce the subtitles? Besides, you have an extraordinarily pleasant speaking voice.
@GuntherWillems
@GuntherWillems 9 жыл бұрын
The Lowmein Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. I will certainly think about it for future videos. Originally I started creating these videos as a summary for when I didn't use an airplane for a while. I thought other people could also benefit from this information. So I try to make it as informative as possible. I really use my own videos :-) For reference, the subtitles get me very quickly where I need to be. Some viewers wrote they like subtitles over constantly spoken information. I'm glad you find them effective too. English is not my native language. It takes time to prepare what I say and to check my pronunciation. I will try in my next videos to speak the longer comments & additional information and will see what it gives. Thanks for the suggestion! Gunther

how do you unlock nose wheel
@GuntherWillems
@GuntherWillems 5 жыл бұрын
You cannot lock the nose wheel. You can only remove wheel chocks (, tie downs, control locks, ...) in the 'shift+4' window. Also check if it is working in other airplanes. To be sure you have no faulty rudder pedals/twist handle or a wrong flight stick/rudder pedals configuration.

Didn't help me at all. Annunciator panel stays dark and nothing happens. I follow the other steps, nothing.
@GuntherWillems
@GuntherWillems 9 жыл бұрын
Brendan Baker You could do this test to confirm the problem: Shift+3, cold & dark Remove controls lock, wheel chocks, tie downs, pitot cover Battery ON (right red button) Now the annunciator panel must show something like Oil press L VAC R, moving the test panel switch up lights all the warnings If this is not the case: All Accu-sim airplanes use Simconnect to communicate with the simulator. Perhaps that software is broken? It must be installed manually. Then you could best ask for help at the official forum: a2asimulations.com/forum/index.php C182 Skylane Tech Support

If it isn't working correctly, perhaps something is wrong in your simulator configuration. If something is missing, this means the real airplane they are modelling didn't have that functionality. A2A simulations are one of the most accurate simulations at the moment. As they say: "developed to be flown 'by the book' " They have an official forum if you want: a2asimulations.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=120

it can not be my simulator, it is only A2A , why would i bother if my others add on work correctly ? try fly VOR to VOR , great texture nice designer but does not behave well
@sadbucket
@sadbucket 7 жыл бұрын
Nirond ur doing something wrong, the a2a has 2 configurations, ones with advanced vor to vor which works 100% fine with me and the other splits the system up between 2 differnt gauges, which is more complicated and i dont use. if ur flying somewhere like africa where u need it u would have and would want the advanced one, which is not the default in a2a's case and is the only option on the default c172 and many other addons. however if ur flying anywhere else vor to vor is phasing out and as of 2018 will be shutting down in north america or at least canada. gps is the future and apparently "more reliable".
