I don't know if Beretta looks at the comments posted on here but I'd like to congratulate them on a really nice shotgun at a fair price on todays market. I bought an A300 synthetic a few months ago and have 300 rounds through it shooting light skeet loads and not a hiccup. Friends of mine with Browning A5's and a Browning Silver have constant failures to eject. Good job Beretta. Love the gun.

disassembly is the easy part. you should have talked more on reassembling the bolt, that's the pain in the ass

I approve this message, you need to remove the trigger group to get the bolt aligned and that wasn't covered but after 5 outdoors covers it
@justadbeer Жыл бұрын
@@orangecat1385 -You don't. It can be aggravating, but nonetheless, once you get used to it, it only takes a few seconds.

Do yourself a favor. Take the trigger group out before trying to reassemble. It's a right pain in the ass to try and get the tail of the bolt to interface with the recoil spring plunger that lives way back in the receiver, Make sure the hammer is cocked and apply the safety, drive out the one pin that holds the trigger assembly in, pull the group out, insert the bolt carrier assembly back into the receiver. Make sure the tail is connected up with the recoil spring plunger. I pull the bolt about half way back, then pressing the bolt release button, insert the trigger group back in. Way easier and allows you to clean the inside of the receiver better as well

One thing I noticed on my Outlander is that the bolt can be inserted in the receiver slightly off. When this happens, the bolt will not retract all the way into the receiver; it will only go about halfway. The bolt MUST be in the correct receiver grooves for it to operate.

I recently had my a300 cerakoted and they individual who did it didn't mask off the receiver very well and I had sand in the action. When I pull the bolt back I can hear the sand, is this the best way to get all the sand out of my shotgun or do I need to disassemble it and rinse it out the let it dry oil it and reassemble it? Advice is welcome. Thank you

Lance Bangwell The gas system design makes this impossible. The piston rides on a thin rod in front of the magazine. The only major flaw, IMHO. Otherwise an excellent shotgun.

A great video for showing off the rifle, but VERY LITTLE as far as dis-assembly and maintenance. Why did that plug have to be removed for clay shooting? What was it?

the manual says something about not cleaning the valve/piston because it is self-cleaning. Did I read this wrong?
@BerettaCommunity7 жыл бұрын
The piston should be cleaned with solvent and a brush, but not ever oiled, unless it needs to be stored for a long period of time. The valve/valve spring should never been disassembled; however, you can spray it out with solvent. Do not oil it, as it will impede function and cause buildup of carbon deposits.

I'm thinking about getting this shotgun as my first shotgun because I love Beretta. Is a semi auto shotgun worth the price difference between it and a pump shotgun? I can get a Mossberg 88 and 500 both cheaper than the A300. Also, do pumps last longer than semi's? I heard that semi's don't last as long. If anyone has any input, I would appreciate it.
@BerettaCommunity6 жыл бұрын
It boils down to personal preference. Pump shotguns require a physical action, obviously, and that's why semi automatic shotguns are preferred when second-shot speed or higher-volume shooting is important (think sporting clays, duck hunting, dove hunting, etc.) In terms of durability, any good-quality action will last you a lifetime, if properly maintained. We have semiautomatics with over a million rounds in them.
@astronomy79116 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, I'm leaning toward the Beretta as it is my favorite brand. My first love was the M9 when I was in the military. I also love the fact Beretta moved to Tennessee to prove they're pro 2nd amendment. Love knowing they are made in my neighboring state. I will probably save up for the A300.

You don’t need the washer. The washer is meant for the stupid plunger which limits you to two rounds. It doesn’t come off as easily as he does it though. For me, I had to twist it off with some pliers to get it off. Once you get it off, you can throw it away or save it, in case you ever need to put back the magazine limiting plug back on. I guess in some areas, I don’t know where, you can only hunt with a 2 capacity magazine.
