@Curmudgeon Transmission nice work! At what gears were the slipping reported? And which accumulators were malfunctioning? I got a similar problem in my Genesis (2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th operated by the same solenoid: 35RC) and I highly suspect the valve body.

i have this same transmission, and i have slipping in 3rd and 5th gear, any ideas on what it could be?

The only thing they have in common is the 3-5-reverse clutch, so there should be a problem with reverse also. So, a problem in that area of the transmission or valve body.

Thanks. Have not seen that many of them, so I would say yes. Seem to be better designed than most.

They are also in Kia Stingers, and other current Genesis models like the G70, G80, G90, GV70 suv, and GV80

When you suspect malfunctioning valve body do you T/S the components of the body or just replace the unit?

At the moment there are no parts to repair the valve body, so replacement.

I took this valve body apart and the wear was in the accumulators. Severe wear in 2 of them. It looks like this is where the main problem will be with them. I would bet Sonnax and Transgo will come out with a repair for them soon. The rest of the valve body looked fine. Very slight wear on a couple of the bores, and I mean VERY slight.
