Put this on my bitz last week. Thing is money. Crisp when it locks in with zero play.

It’s good to see someone that’s OCD on building arrows like me. I never cut out any steps and enjoy building my “ bullets”. Back in the day when I was into traditional archery building arrows it was a lot more complicated than nowadays building carbon arrows. That’s where I learned to be slow and deliberate. Cool video here. Great detail I hope newbie archers can learn from. 👍👍

I use a bitz and I don’t recall ever experiencing anything like you stated that would require this knob. I’ve fletched quite a few flawlessly. But I will say that adjustable nock index is a nice feature. I occasionally lose a fletch that doesn’t tear the wrap. A little brush with a 220 sanding sponge and I can just replace the vane. I typically can turn the nock to get the index lined up for replacing just one. BTW I use q2i vanes and they don’t need any extra prep either. They stick awesome.

You must have got a good one! But yes, the ability to adjust the nock index position is very useful.

Interesting series. I am going to give that bend test a try with my new GT Pierce target arrows. As for the fletching jig. I tell you brother I did not want to spend $100 for a Bitzenburger fletching jig just because it was supposed to be the best. But I was done with the plastic one I had been using so I picked up a MSJumper from Amazon and it is an excellent jig for around $40 To be fair I have never used a Bitzenburger but based on the videos I have seen, like this one, I will stack MSJumper up against it any day of the week. Makes fletching arrows a pleasure not a chore. Well made, easy to adjust and setup, smooth finish and the machining is top notch. The only negative is it they do not have a helical holder, or at least did not when I bought mine in 2021. I have found so many things in archery, like the arrows you are using here, that will do the job just as well or better than things that cost twice as much. Anyway, enjoying the series brother.

I’ll have to look up that jig. Our school archery club needs a jig so that might do the trick.

Great content mat. Check out zenith products, they also make a good knob btw… but if you pick up there upgrade kit it has a part to “shim” to square to the arrow up to the knob r… and their knob has ID receivers so you can fletch with out the nock play….

Could you just deepen the detente in the original cylinder?
@mat_in_texas
@mat_in_texas 3 ай бұрын
Potentially. The quality of the part is what is in question. Even the detents aren’t evenly spaced in many examples. But being able to index the nock receiver in relation to the detent position is the biggest selling point to me.
