It was NOT the stalling call that decided the match. Brooks decided to wrestle the entire match, while Hidlay decided to keep his ass on the line and stall the entire match, except the last 14 seconds where he had way too much energy to be running after Brooks that way. Otherwise, getting ahold of Brooks leg was extremely lucky. Even if in the middle of the mat, he wouldn't have been able to finish that takedown. To sum up, it was Hidlay's decision to stall so much. Brooks was just a much better wrestler.

What I find ridiculous is: 1) the ref called stalling with 1 min left in a national title match. Why did they feel they needed to insert themselves. Beside its highly debatable if he was even stalling. 2) brooks started running at the 1 min mark. The refs never even called a warning for stalling on Brooks? 3) as they went out of bounds books grabbed the side of the matt. @@bradtodd3832 i totally agree. but i still think hidlay should have gotten called for stalling in the second and then maybe a fleeing the mat on brooks in the third. would have been a fun overtime. i do think brooks is the better wrestling though. if you watch the RBY match you know the stalling call is pretty inconsistent.

@@tannermarriott8903 Yeah very inconsistent, also, when and where have you seen any of the ole refs calling a fleeing the mat call? I like when that rule was supposed to be enforced, but nobody calls it, ever..

how that isnt a stall at the end is completely beyond me. hes full on running away from hidlay. All of the Penn State wrestlers besides Lee did this. What a joke

@@freeninj1369 agreed. They’re just mad that Penn State went for four last season and now I’ve gone by five this year and come back to win the championship again.
