No, he's the only one who wasn't already self aware. The others aren't trying to correct him, they are confirming his realisation. He says "Damn we really talk like that?", and the other three say "Yeah", "Uh huh" and "Let me show you". They then come up to show him that yes, that's how we talk. It's not that he's the only one to realise, it's that the others have all already accepted it.

Tbf much of language is contextual, regardless of which language it is. For instance, it is difficult to understand sarcasm through just text, but if you were talking to someone on the phone, you'd understand it far more quickly. You'd get it fastest if you were talking in person because you could see their body language as well as hear their tone (Unless you're blind/deaf)

Similar yet different, my cousin’s bf has a West Texas accent and he was talking out loud to himself and I asked my cousin “what is he saying” and she said “i have no idea; i don’t even understand what he says to me half the time” meanwhile both of us have typical Midwest accents, everything annunciated very carefully, very clinical and boring, but everyone always understands us; meanwhile West Texas accent sounds like someone forgot to that words have spaces in between them and decided to blend every syllable together 😂

I’m also from the Midwest, typical Midwest accent, and when I dated my now-ex that was from Mississippi meeting his family was… interesting. His accent got thicker when he was with his family so it was harder to understand but he was still the only person I could understand at all. His mom would ask me a question and I’d have to ask my ex to translate 😂
