39 is not 60, nobody ever factors in that he didn’t get where he is without dedication, determination and a love for the game. That inner fire doesn’t just go out because of an injury, it just gets refocused on healing and making his way back.

In athletic years in a league like the NFL 39 is 60. It’s few and far between to see QBs play at 40 and even rarer to see them play well. Peyton fell off a cliff at 39. Brees fell drastically around that age. And so on. It’s harder to heal at that age but yes it’s possible if he wants it. The age stands out because he can walk away because his legacy is built so does he have the hunger to go through all that coming back would require? It’s a different analysis when it’s a young guy who heals quicker, hasn’t made legacy money, and hasn’t had a HOF career. The young guy is coming back unless their body refuses to let them. When the guy has his money, legacy and is already in the HOF without another snap and it’s harder to heal it’s a huge passion choice about what to do. If he wants it he can do it but does a guy who’s pondered leaving for a while now without a major injury like this one going to take this on to come back for a year or two or is he gonna take it as the sign to call it a day? It sounds like he wants to come back but it’s much harder at his stage.

39 is not old for a rehab. And he's going to rehab anyway. That's part of the process of healing properly and getting strength and flexibility back. These guys work out 5 days a week even when healthy. So really it is just the choice - do I want to play again or not? If he wants to play, he'll be fine.

Look at all they did to get him before this at 39 knowing he’s there for a couple years at best. They were all in. That isn’t going to suddenly change now unless you land a can’t miss guy to take the spot. Otherwise you draft the next guy and hope he learns fast under Aaron.

The Jets treated Rogers like a guy who never drove a Lambo went out and bought one and on the way home from the dealership went into a curve at 220 miles per hour and wrapped it around a pole. Chip blocks against a D that came out f-ing loaded for bear. Monday night in NY 24 million people watching. So what do the Jets do they offer up Rogers as a sacrificial lamb. 1st down 25 yard run off tackle. Then the next 3 plays passing attempts with Rogers getting hit all 3 times. They have 3 starting running backs why not pound the rock until you take the edge off of the bills D line. As for Rogers on the play he was injured he saw that dude coming from 10 yards away and sat there paralyzed did not move did not throw the ball away. The game got to big for him as it always does when the heat is on. He was like a dear in head lights on all 3 pass attempts. In life, sports and business you get what you deserve, not what you expect. They will not suck me in on this hiped up nonsense next year. The Jets will always be the Jets just like the Cowboys will always be the Cowboys ...
