Purdy played four seasons at Iowa St (Big 12) and played a lot of football. 1,467 attempts, 993 completions, 67.7%, 81TDs, 33INTs, 12,170yds. He also ran for 19TDs. Not everyone but when you play so much football and have talent & skills, it helps you to read defenses and playbooks faster. He's developed the brain for being a QB. It's not his arm as much as his football mind.

For all of you who are just discovering Brock over the last 12 months, I invite you to go look up any Iowa State games from 2018, his true freshman year. Iowa State had lost their starting QB in their season opener. QB2 had been ineffective, and the team started 1-3. Brock came in on the third series of game 5 vs Oklahoma State, and it looked just like last year with the 49ers. He balled out, finishing the regular season winning 7 of 8 to go 8-4 before a close loss in the Alamo Bowl. Then, he came back for his sophomore year and crushed every single season record for QBs. His junior year, he led ISU to their first ever conference championship game appearance, first NY6 Bowl appearance and win, and first ever top ten finish. This kid has been like this for a while, people just couldn’t see it for some reason.

The biggest question is will the Niners be able to get off Lance? GMs don’t like to admit they’re wrong especially on a first round pick. Purdy proved he’s the better option but he might not get his shot anyway

Purdy proved he's the better option as of now with his 4-5 times the experience of Lance as well which you can't just discount as nothing. Why would the Niners try to get off Lance currently? That would be an absolutely awful decision to say the least.. They'll give him at minimum one more year and then the decisions start getting much more serious but as of now anything can happen.. We just had a Season where literally 4 of our QB's were injured so having an extra guy with elite potential who is clearly still learning is probably a good idea. Unless some team comes out of nowhere with a great offer which I don't expect it's the easy, obvious decision imo.

This was a nice little clip. I have to say when I was watching Brock Purdy play, I just was like, damn. He looks like Brady. Just poised, and a complete control. I felt the same way when I saw Joe Burrow. They are the only two that I have seen that resembled Brady since Brady's been in the league. Brady reminded me of Montana.

It’s common sense. Just like Purdy came in and was given the job with good play because of injury. Purdy might miss half the season so Lance is going to be putting his numbers down for his resume. I can see Lance staying the starter all of 23 then a true QB competition in 24

Lance has a very long leash because of how much draft capital was spent to get him. The 49ers will give him every chance to succeed, even if he doesn't deserve them, because they desperately want that investment to pay off.

I think at the end that really is the difference with Purdy and many other QBs. He has a mental toughness and calmness under pressure that only a handful of the best QBs in the league have, and that ends up being so much more of an asset than anything else.

This will be Purdy's first real offseason since being in the NFL. His first year, he was QB3 and thrust into the spotlight mid-season. NFC championship game, gets injured, surgery, healing all summer. Learning. Played a full season, at one point was the MVP favorite at the bookie. Now he has a chance to practice all offseason, getting those reps in at full speed and full power. This upcoming season the 49ers got stuck with the worst rest differential of any team. 4th worst schedule in the history of the NFL. It will be a true test. *This means that on average, the team the 9ers are playing against will have had more rest over the past week.

Aaron Rodgers is legit!! He knows what he is talking about and his says it fast and with confidence. I never knew anything about him (Rodgers). But I like him more after listening here. Purdy is on God's radar. He's not going anywhere. He'll be around for a long time. Purdy moves very well, keeps his head, and knows when to take off running and when to throw. Montana and Favre could do some of those but not all of those. He's more of a complete package. No one has Montana's cool or Favre's guts, but Purdy has more than either of those guys as a complete package.

Brock is refreshing to watch. Makes watching NFL fun to watch after seeing Collins Kapernick putting all his attention getting feeling sorry for himself. Hell Brock still has his baby teeth and he keeps on getting better. Watched him at Iowa State in his entirety and he came in like he did in the NFL and they beat Oklahoma and he never looked back. Before going out against the Eagles he looked completely overwhelmed by their defense. Slow reads, ball coming out late, leading to sacks and ultimately his injury. I stand by what I said.

In the cowboys game he did what he needed to do, made some key plays, and didn’t turn the ball over. In the eagles game he was literally on the field for one whole possession so u can’t even judge that game because it was literally in the single digits for plays. So what is ur point here? Cuz if u really watched it u would see that Purdy played great in the playoffs especially for a rookie that(isn’t even supposed to be starting) or whatever the hell all the Purdy haters say.

I am a lifelong Patriots fan so I realize what it is to witness a diamond in the rough as in Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. I followed Purdy's progress and saw that he was doing well against mediocre competition. I was curious to see how he would do when he was tested. To me he wilted a bit. We will see what next season brings. Dude, with his cool, does remind me of Brady. The jury is still out on him, my brudda. 👍
