Not only does Rodgers have a cannon for an arm, but he's deadly accurate, able to run, able to avoid multiple sacks in the backfield due to his agility and awareness, and is unmatched when it comes to throwing off balance. He's also one of the best (If not the best) at drawing opponents offsides for free plays, and is always catching too many players on the field. Brady has more rings, but it doesn't make him the better individual player. Brady has a couple of these traits, but no one in the history of the NFL has combined them all like Rodgers has.

That's true. I grew up in late 80s early 90s and can still remember the days of Don "The Magic man" Majkowski, Tony Mandarich, and Chris Jackie. Where an 8/8 season was considered good for us. I wonder about what will happen once Rodgers retires. Will we fall back into obscurity ? I'm too spoiled now to go back to being mediocre.

@basketballaddict2885 4 жыл бұрын
How does talent determine greatness? If that’s the case then Micheal Vick is a top 3 QB all time. Rodgers is a toxic teammate and a poor leader, that’s why he’s only won one super bowl and has had limited success. He’s a waste of a talent. He doesn’t use his brain. Instead of throwing the ball away while under pressure, he rolls out and tries to make some amazing play, then he gets sacked and everyone looks at the offensive line. He doesn’t elevate his teammates either. Great quarterbacks make their receivers look better than they actually are. Rodgers doesn’t do that. Rodgers isn’t even clutch too. He has a few clutch moments but Jay Cutler has more fourth quarter comebacks than he does. He’s a wasted talent in my opinion.
@DavidGluhaich
@DavidGluhaich 4 жыл бұрын
@@basketballaddict2885 And this right here boys is the delusion that the sheep fans of the NFL believe because that is what is preached over and over on sports networks to have more people follow their agenda. It's not like Rodgers trying to keep the play going instead of throwing it away, like you suggested, is making the team any worse. Why not try to make something happen? That decision making isn't resulting in turnovers, clearly. Still the highest TD/INT ratio in history by a long shot. One of the lowest, if not the lowest, average interception per season. And clutch? You clearly don't watch Packers games if you actually think he isn't clutch. And don't be using 4th quarter comebacks as a stat either. Jay Cutler had more 4th quarter comebacks because he was always losing to begin with. The sample size of games where a 4th quarter comeback was possible is significantly higher for Cutler than Rodgers.
@basketballaddict2885
@basketballaddict2885 4 жыл бұрын
David Gluhaich Why risk losing yards just for one highlight play? I understand that your supposed to try to extend a play. A spectacular rarely happens, especially if the defense is good. So if the play isn’t going to work, don’t risk losing more yards and just get rid of the ball. Rodgers throws the ball away at the wrong time. Last year he broke the record for the most throw aways with 59. His offensive line regressed, but the reason he threw it away was because he was afraid to throw it deep or throw it into contested coverage because he didn’t want to be intercepted. If you watch his film you will see. Sometimes he will pass on deep throws and just throw it away. I don’t see how a touchdown to interception ratio defines greatness. Rodgers has the best ratio over his career. Behind him are Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, and Colin Kaepernick and Derick Carr.... How could Kap and Carr be up there? For the highest ratio in a season we have Tom Brady in first, with Nick Foles, Josh McCown, and Damon Huard... Besides Brady, Wilson, and Rodgers, are any of those quarterbacks great? No. Now for fourth quarter comebacks the top 20 only have 2 players that are not hall of fame quarterbacks. The top 3 are Peyton, Brady and Brees. Can you give me one great moment in his career where he’s lead his team to a victory in an important game? Not a regular season game, a playoff game. Like last year in the Super Bowl and in Kansas City Tom Brady led his team to victory. There are tons of other examples with other great quarterbacks. Despite the fact that Rodgers is a bad teammate, he doesn’t get along with coaches, and he can’t elevate his teammates, you still think he is the goat? I find that crazy.

Didn't watch as I'm sure it's filled with highlights against my Bears. There was a game 3 or 4 years ago, against Dallas or Detroit - may have been the Dez catch playoff game. Nelson was in the slot and just ran straight down field on a timing throw meant to hit between the 2nd and third level. AR threw a pass that was TOO perfect. Just as Nelson cleared the LB and started to turn around, the ball bounced off his shoulder pad, incomplete. I admitted to myself right then and there that AR was absolutely the most talented QB I've ever seen, and that's about 53 years worth of watching.

It makes me absolutely sick when all the analysts from ESPN-FOX all say that Rodgers "isn't what he was, he is out there throwing duds and is everything ok between him and LaFleur?" It has been so long since my Pack has had to experience some growing pains (outside of his injury ending seasons) that everyone has forgot that we were one-and-done's in our first years in the playoffs with AR at the helm. @William Lee What did Jordy Nelson James Jones and Greg Jennings do after they left Green Bay? Jordy Nelson went to Oakland and he wasnt even a number one option and couldnt even eclipse 1000 yards recieving. James Jones went to the Giants and got cut by the Giants practice squad and then the same year came back to play for Rodgers and the Packers and led the league in Touchdown catches that year. And Greg Jennings went to the Vikings and didn't do much. Aaron Rodgers made his players look greater than what they were because of his pinpoint accuracy

@William Lee so McCarthy decides to implements new plays when he's on the hot seat especially when rodgers was still recovering from week 1 injury.... Rodgers isn't so stupid that he forgot the play it's more likely he has a habit like it's also curse at times when he too physically talent because Green Bay relies on his playmaking ability within a Battleship Offense which was there before he became the starter.For Rodgers in his mind he feels he has to everything if he doesn't have to... Any QB mind would be running in many places if they were running this Offense every week due the fact it's bland overall when does have to drop back and throw with inconsistent play calling though I guess Rodgers gets some blame missing some reads and overthrowing or underthrowing The ball to his Receivers.

He's definitely a talented QB who throws a great ball. He's also had the luxury of playing on the best team in a mostly Downy-soft division for most of his career (that's useful when it comes to compiling stats). If Green Bay hadn't played Chicago in the the 2010 NFC title game, there's room for debate that they would not have made it to the Super Bowl that year. And yes, Tom Brady also had the luxury of playing in a soft division while he was in New England, but he was able to capitalize on his opportunities in the post-season.

Almost every play in this video, Rodgers is under INTENSE pressure. Yet somehow he gets away, finds a receiver, and delivers an OFFSET throw, sometimes without even having his feet on the damn ground, with incredible arm strength and absolutely surgical accuracy! THIS is why NO OTHER QB compares. Period! Rodgers has literally MADE A CAREER OUT OF THESE EXACT PLAYS. Because he’s almost never had an o-line to protect him for more than 2-3 seconds... Brady, Brees, Manning, (insert almost any QB in the decade+ here), NONE OF THEM would have Rodgers stats having to deal with THIS. NONE. HOWEVER, if people are asking/wondering why the Packers drafted Love, it’s because the Packers haven’t seen THIS kind of play in nearly 3 years... Minus the collarbone, since signing that insanely valuable extension(well deserved for what he’s done for Green Bay), Rodgers hasn’t quite been the same... Rodgers has gotten this quiet arrogance about him. And it’s led to him being harder to coach... McCarthy obviously couldn’t do it. But McCarthy also became incredibly stale... then LaFleur came in and at times, you could see the disconnect between LaFleur and Rodgers this past year. LaFleur called something, Rodgers did something else... This is something I have to give the other greats CREDIT for. They’ve remained coachable. Since his collarbone, you can unfortunately just see that he’s just not as confident in his arm... he’s been holding onto the ball WAY longer than he should. No even giving his receivers a chance at times. Favre never did that. Maybe part of it is keeping his legendary TD:INT ratio intact. But Rodgers has been holding the ball, going against the grain with coaches, moving a little slower, and just isn’t as confident as he was... Hopefully with this draft padding the o-line and picking up who looks to a great RB in Dillon as well as some LB support, and our receivers having more experience. Hopefully we’ll see some confidence return for Rodgers Because when this man is confident, you’re NOT going to stop him! It’s that simple!

@@RB01.10 I agree. I've come to believe that the Frozen Tundra advantage is overrated, especially with the Niners winning at Lambeau.

He was one of college’s most accurate passers as well! He is a phenom, being one of the only QBs to actually be more accurate our side of the pocket. Now that he has a running game and defense, if his receivers can stay healthy, we may get a Brady v Rodgers after all! That’s all I want to see! I’m still angry that they got rid of Nelson and signed Graham. Should have kept Cook and Nelson! What makes him so good is the report he has/had w Nelson and Adams etc. They always know to come back to him when the play breaks down OR head toward the sidelines!

Y’all knock this Mahomes is better than Rodgers crap off. He’s been a starter for 1 season! Y’all just run to his side because he was winning. In 5-10 years come back and I will debate with you.

Okay. If you are basing this off legacy, Rodgers still has it. Mahomes has starting season so far. It was a good one, too. Rodgers has like 13 under his belt and even when he is in his lows he still has good stats. Look at last season. He also has records. What Mahomes has is season stats that are up there. But will he be the next Peyton Manning or Drew Brees? No. He will be this generations new thing. Maybe.

As a GB fan, all this "comeback" stuff and "best throws ever" are like dan marino highlights. not making playoffs or knocked out in 2nd game surely the new coaching staff is looking at that instead.
