I've really loved the writing and acting.For being 19 yrs old and being able to handle what Aaron has been been dealt with,Danny has just nailed it with every performance.The story now deals with Aaron cutting himself and like the pro he is,says excuse me I"ve got work to do.Love it.

i like the way aaron is written i've never seen a gay character like aaron before his not typical.

Is this the first time there's been a self-harm storyline? I'm only fourteen, but I've known a lot of people subjected to self-harming, including myself. I was in a dark place last year but the new school year has made me much more positive and smiley. Hopefully Aaron will do the same.

When he said the kid was a little mini Aaron I thought the storyline might go something like this: Aaron sees what he has put everyone through and he tries to sought out the kid... but I guess that was just wishful thinking, it seems that Aaron's storylines can only go dark

@mlorocker I think it's good the show adresses this issue, it's so taboo to talk about cutting, but yeah I agree I hope that after this story we're done with the dark type stories and Danny gets to express his talent

A dark place at the moment??? Pfff, more like he's been in a dark place for the last freaking year. And things are gonna get worse?!?!? How is that even possible... obviously the show and Danny are milking this storyline for awards at this point. I guess sad, depressed Aaron is more appealing to them than gay, happy Aaron. Sucks to see a once gay storyline turned into a cashcow.

We had a coming out storyline, domestic abuse, suicide storyline, paralysis storyline, depression storyline, and assisted suicide storyline consecutively over the course of a year. No where in that time did we get a storyline that was positive and happy and showed that being gay is not the worst thing in the world. And I think a good actor can express his talent through anything thrown at him. A romantic scene is just as effective as a darker scene in my book

I am not one of those extreme gay activists, just a normal 21 year old guy that is disappointed how this storyline turned over the course of the year. I stuck it out, expecting a glimpse of hope and a bit of onscreen affection, but it just never happened. The beginning was sooo promising, and I will forever love those first few months.

@adgp Sure, drama is always fun. But I watch soaps to get away from real life. I don't know if your a fangirl or a homosexual like me, but let me tell you being gay is hard enough on its own. I watch soaps to try and escape the negativity in this world surrounding homosexuality. Sure, life is never perfect, but Aaron just keeps getting sh*t thrown at him by the writers. I agree that a good mix of drama/heartache/suspense makes for good tv, but give me a bit of happiness/excitement in the mix!

@adgp And I would have loved to see Aaron and Jackson doing normal, couply things for awhile before the sh#t hit the fan. There aren't many shows in the US that show a normal gay couple being in a relationship and just enjoying each others company. I adore Chrolli/DeRo for giving me the chance to see a realistic, gay relationship on screen. Emmerdale never really showed a gay couple, and its sad because it had potential to be great. I hate that I feel to dedicated to this storyline, but I do.

@erzan They are new on the show. I mean, the kid, a sister and their mother. Their car needed to be fixed. That´s why they were at the garage this past week but Aaron was not there. That´s why there are no scenes of them meeting. The first time we see them together is on Friday´s when the kid is boxing

@shaniali And I totally agree, Danny totally shines when he gets to portray depressed Aaron. But that just proves that the writers are milking this storyline and not respecting Aaron's character. It's not fair for me, as a gay viewer who wants to see one of my favorite gay characters happy and living life, to see him being knocked down over and over again. But obviously the show neither cares for or respects its gay demographic and its main priority is winning awards. Sucks that it came to that

@hugyface The "toon" that was written is NOT Gay. The coming out story, Jackson - all of it was just written for dramatic effect and ratings. They never intended a Gay storyline, and are not heading down that road. He's gone from Gay to assisted suicide to now self-hurting and soon to become a "big brother/mentor". Why didn't they just let Danny play teenage angst instead of all the facades?

I mean ask yourself honestly, how long before you would start to get bored? It's called a drama for a reason.

I have long since given up on Aaron's Story; originally I loved it because yes, despite being a tortured gay (as most soap gays are), he never became a stereotype and was always himself. However, the entire storyline has devolved into incessant doom and gloom. Watching it is physically depressing. Thankfully I have Chrolli - they're always happy and sexy ^^
