The best Mountain Goats cover in existence

Even though this is just a cover I like to imagine that this is the part of Aaron that's hopeful of the future and is excited with the thought of being with Diane again. Like this song sounds so raw and almost off-key from the original because Aaron is syrupy happy for once in the past year and is screaming it out, singing along to a relatable song he hears on the radio of his dad's old Mustang. It's beautiful and emotional.

I just listened to the whole album 4 times on repeat no I'm not crying, definitely got something in my eye.

So let me get it straight. This is Dan Campbell doing an impression of Aaron West doing a cover of TMG "Going to Georgia", right?

this is so much better than the original in my opinion, it just gets me every time, when i'm happy, sad, whatever, i love it

This song is fantastic and Soupy's cover does it so much justice. I'm super obsessed with this album.

Soupy's vocals on this song fit so well in the weirdest way.

I've been a Mountain Goats fan for a decade or so, and I never liked the Wonder Years (no hate, just not my thing). With that said, I think this is an exceptional cover, probably the best along with Atom and his Package, which is a very different flavor. This is one of my favorite Mountain Goats covers ever, and while I definitely prefer the original, sometimes I listen to this one instead to hear Soupy belting it out. I'm gonna check out the rest of his Aaron West stuff to see how I like it

Haven't heard the original but he sounds like he is singing off pitch from what it should be, but I still like it for some reason. Then again, anything this guy releases is good, to me at least.

I like it but I love the original better...it feels authentic.

I get a La Dispute vibe at some points in this cover, and I'm digging it.

What a great song writer, a very solid album. Although I think this man is a genius I only getting one or two songs off of the album, most of the songs were missing a little something or had parts in it that just stopped me from pushing it from good to great, such as including a harmonica in the song, lacking a solid chorus, or getting a "country" vibe in general. Despite these little things, I wish there were more artists that could write music like this guy, he does not suck, he does not suck at all.

This blows the original out of the fucking water. No hate, this is just so fucking incredible. Soupy conveys emotion in his music like no one else.

Does this mean Aaron got Diane back?

I love how this song is so much more happy than the rest, he states the things he has and where's he's going and it shows that Aaron is happy again

It's a good cover and a great band to cover, but it can't beat the original. Just, no. It's good and this album is good, but covering the mountain goats just doesn't do the same thing the original.

I love TWY but this just does not compare to tMG whatsoever :(
