China's Tallest Building | $8BN Shenzhen-Hong Kong Center | World's 2nd Tallest Skyscraper

4 жыл бұрынShenzhen-Hong Kong International Center will stand 700m above Shenzhen as China’s tallest building upon completion in 2024.
The tower was designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill. Shenzhen-Hong International Center will be constructed using high-performance glass to reduce heat gain, the entire development will be orientated to optimize solar gain and natural ventilation
The megatall skyscraper is set to become the tallest building in China, and the world's third tallest building behind SOM's 828-metre Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the 1,000 meter high Jeddah Tower, which is under construction in Saudi Arabia
It will be built between the foothills of Longcheng Park and the Dayun National Park, and form part of the Chicago-based architect's wider masterplan for the Longgang district in the east of the city.
The tower will be part of a larger complex that includes apartments, offices, a startup incubator, hotels, shopping centers, international schools, and a convention center in Shenzhen's Longgang district.
Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center will be topped with one of the world's highest observation decks, alongside a restaurant, night club, spa facilities and a swimming pool.
The goal for the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center is to obtain LEED Platinum certification.

Something tells me this is the only megatall that will not be effected by a 500m margin, why? Because Xi once mentioned: If you wanna see the past go to Beijing, present go to Shanghai and future go to Shenzhen. So Beijing has 528m tallest Shanghai has 632m tallest So Shenzhen will have ~730m Also it's politics that will drive all this. If mainland can't "capture Hong Kong" it will try to strangle it by making it's on "Hong Kong" next door (more like 3 doors, as Shenzhen surronds Hong Kong on 3 sides) P.S. consider this a caption for a whole youtube video explanation.

Unlikely to be built to its original height. More likely at or just below 500m, but we still don't know yet.

Max Martin the price a 1000m would be 3x more expensive than two 500m as the 1000m tall will be 2x fragile as it’s same version of 500m + the wind force on the top would swing the building.. Also 1000m building would not only be ugly but bad for the environment, creating a mountain shadow and it will cause light pollution that distrups birds and a hence a whole ecosystem...

@@dylankn8129 if it were to be 1000m tallthe building would be designed to handle the wind speeds and the shadow would me minimized. Look at the design for the Jeddah tower or the Burj khalifa. They are designed for the height. And why would an architect design an ugly 1000m building. No one will design a 1000m building that looks like one liberty plaza

@@desert1791 Which mean " vanity project " . No economic reason to build that tall. Only certain places such as Manhattan and Hong Kong where land is scarce and very expensive does it make any economic sense to spend so much extra to build that tall. If it does not make economic sense it is just being built for bragging rights and try to move 3rd tier city into first tier city ranking.

i lived right across this skyscraper, at those group of apartment buildings at the right of the overall picture, and i know that this project can be completed but it's more likely that they are only going to lose money, that place is literately like countryside and skyscrapers dont work in countryside

Probably over $30bn, approaching $50bn. Money for new infrastructure probably ain't a problem with how fast they built up beautiful skylines. At this point I feel like the only US city to compete with China's cities is probably NYC. We get the added advantage of rich people funding some of our skyline.
