Thats so fascinating about the ambroxan crystalizing and dropping out. 100 years ago in high school we were finding the saturation point with sugar/water. Crazy to think that could happen with a fragrance.

Thanks for reviewing this fragrance. "Sauvage Parfum" is my favorite one from that line, and it was good for me to hear your insight regarding it. The video was confusing, though because sometimes it seemed like you were calling it the EDP flanker instead of the Parfum flanker.

A few days ago I was going though my collection looking for something for springtime and beside all of them - this fragrance really stood out. Years have passed since I emptied that small bottle. Ordered a new (bigger) one and I can't believe how much I enjoy a Dior Sauvage flanker. 😊This is a gem really!

The edp was the first one to add sweetness, parfum to me is soapy and slightly smoky. You should compare both

Good morning from New Zealand & Seasons Greetings. I purchased my very first Dior Sauvage yesterday a wee Xmas gift to me. I tried the tester of EDT & the Parfum & kindly asked two ladies who were also checking out some CD perfumes which smelt better? Both said the Parfum as it projected more, I loved it too. So today I’m going to wear this to work today & see what comments I get.

Despite others downplaying the Parfum I've always liked this formulation a bit more than the EDT or EDP. Only Elixir surpasses this formulation for me in the Sauvage line. YMMV.

Just bought the Parfum, and then went to watch what people thought in comparisons and all of that, just to see a ton of hate. This made me feel so much better. I've only ever smelled the EDP, but felt the parfum would be good for my job, as it may sit a little closer, still project, but not as big as I feel the EDP or EDT would. Was impressed one spray of the EDP though smelled good on me for like 12 hours. But I think I'll be happier with the Parfum! Cheers!

You have a gorgeous blackout piece on your right arm. Regarding Sauvage, I bought a sample and found it too overwhelming, i wish other perfumes that i actually like would project and last as long as this does

I love the smell of the parfum version. However it does not perform on me at all, unlike the EDP. So I chose to buy the latter, plus the Elixir.

I love all three of the main Sauvages (and elixir) I think the EDT is the best one, because you can't beat the original in most cases, but the parfum comes very close I think the EDP is kind of bland personally

I don't love Sauvage because I just don't care for ambroxan. Prada Luna Rosa Carbon is slightly more appealing to me but just generally I don't like the metallic harshness of it. Ironically I'm wearing ATH's Odyssey right now, which does contain ambroxan, but it's so light and soft that it makes the ambroxan enjoyable.

It makes me feel good that a perfumer preferred the Parfum and ranked it so high, i have tested EDT, EDP alongside the Parfum and i picked the latter. It was love at first sniff, it sticks to me during the whole day, super wearable and it radiates very well without chocking you, i would definitely buy it again.

Hey man! This perfume has been changed the smell. I gifted my Dior Sauvage bottle to a friend oversea because he liked it so much. When I came back to the US, I tried to purchase a new one so I could continue to use it but I noticed the smell was way too much different. I cant find that version anywhere else sadly!

Hi Arran, Dior don’t list ambroxan in the Parfum Version of sauvage on their site, however do you think it’s still in there? I feel like there is a notable trail on both the EDT and EDP which I’m assuming is ambroxan but it’s not as recognisable with the Parfum although there is still a vague DNA there. Would be great to know your thoughts if you see this comment 🫶🏻

Best Version IMO

Out of the three originals I’ve always thought this one was just more rounded overall. Like it filled a gap you didn’t realize was there until you smell the edt and edp.

I’ve had the opposite reaction to the projection you mention. The EDT would blast people while the Parfum would sit closer to my skin and last longer.

What I’ve seen is that edt is hated for being too strong and ambroxon heavy, edp is the nice middle ground with its added sweetness, parfum is soapy and slightly smoky with different scent with mandarin and sandalwood.

The Parfum is the most underrated sauvage, thank you!

I bought this, but I didn't really like it. Didn't like the projection, or lack thereof. Got the EDP and really like that.

Please Aaron, now last but not least the EDP Version! That would be so great, the whole fragrance community is always debating about which these three, to have your final opinion about the third one would be so god damn epic!

I’ve had women go absolutely bonkers over the Parfum. Like on a deep level, where they could not stop bringing up how f’n amazing it/I smelled. Probably my most complimented fragrance by Women, other than Red Tobacco by Mancera.

Parfums concentrations really are great for the office like you said. Lower projection but better longevity. Perfect for the office.

I got the parfume for my son (14 ) for Christmas. We both didn't like it on him. To masculine. He is not wearing it.His first fragrance was Gucci Guilty ( eau de toilette). Smelled way better on him. Now he is wearing Dolce& Gabbana light blue ( eau de toilette) for the summer. I don't know which one next? He said he wants a fragrance none of his friends has❗

Parfum is my favorite iteration

My experience with Sauvage parfum is that's it's kind of boring....albeit more intense. So many people liked this that I wanted to try it. The experience was quite a letdown....and didn't live up to the potential inferences of the name itself (imho)
