So sad to see it empty. It's beautiful minus the flower wall paper but at the same time, I would live there. So much potential. Nice that it's not vandalized!

The ‘second kitchen’ is called a ‘Butler’s Pantry’. It is where all the prep work can be done and where all the dishes can be done afterwards. (And if you can’t be bothered doing the dishes straight away you can just shut the door, especially if you have guests over.)
@heathercalvert31413 жыл бұрын
Exactly! And the bedroom/bathroom by it would probably be the servants quarters since there was an exterior door between the butler's pantry and the laundry room. That would give them privacy to come and go. Deliveries would also be made to that door.
@paulanull87313 жыл бұрын
@@heathercalvert3141 You are exactly right it was the living in staff quarters. Pretty nice actually, better than the attic or basement. I really liked the sky lights every where but the glass block windows started to bug me after awhile. So much privacy, hidden from public view, secrets kind of place. It was a beautiful place but i would want a different couch and walls. Ew.

2:05 Door in master bath leading to outside pool area is probably located there so one could exit the pool and go directly to the shower without saturating bedroom floor. 9:08 - Slide up doors in kitchen - Appliance Garages - to stow away toaster, coffee pot, etc... Iron gates spectacular California shutters also called plantation shutters Well done - great video!

I thought the bathroom leading to the pool would be the idea of an OCD person who takes a shower after having a swim and before getting inside the home....

All the glass block just reeks 1985, as does the rest, like the black & brass cabinets (this was the same way my waterbed headboard looked like.) ... Brings me back! Lol! The toilet in its own room, as you see in the beginning is called the water closet & the roll up areas of the kitchen are called appliance garages, as not not have a messy countertop w/toasters & whatnot. Intresting find & thanks for your work. It was a great distraction from the lock down. Much love from Chicago.... Stay well & stay safe!😘 Oh! And wash your paws! 🤗 #ScarFace #MiamiVice

This is beautiful. I'm in love with it. It's just perfect. Such a crime that they don't auction these off. Given the opportunity I would much rather buy something like this, put the time and care in and restore it. Than buy a generic, new "McMansion".

I absolutely love these old houses! And I appreciate you taking us on your explorations. Some advice though...You should review all of your videos & see them how you're showing them to us & that way you can analyze your technique. Slow down a bit & allow us to get the whole picture. We want to be able to view each room. Also, if you're able to, please invest in better lighting. It's difficult to see some of what you're trying to show us. And (for your safety) you should wear a mask. Surely there is dangerous mold & such that you shouldn't be breathing in. Please continue sharing these amazing houses with us! Take care & be safe. Thank you!

This house. Oh my goodness. Love the master. The kitchen is cool. The roll ups in the kitchen are appliance garages to hide your small appliances such as a toaster. Could the room you thought was a second kitchen be a craft room? Ethan you should get an Olight flashlight. They are fairly expensive but high quality and very bright. I bought one for myself, my husband borrowed it for going out to the farm and he loved it. I gave it to him and bought me another one.

The bank has owned this house in 2017, and has remained unused for 3 years? That’s absolutely shameful. In America there are so many people who don’t even have a room to live in and here’s 10,000 square feet going to waste. What ever happened to the true American dream? ☮️💟 Nana
@maxwellj72994 жыл бұрын
Have you seen the deterioration? Have you no clue how much it costs to keep up with a house of this size? Your thoughts are very sweet and kindhearted, but irrational. I would never want to burden people who can't afford any home of their own, and never a 10,000 sqft home. A shelter? Maybe. But restoring this place to usable condition isn't going to be cheap. And other people shouldn't have to be paying for homeless people to live in a mansion of all things. Thanks for hearing my perspective!
@Fonzi794 жыл бұрын
so?????? What the bank is gonna just give it away for free to homeless ppl ????????????????? Sorry Buddy it dont work that way!!
@maxwellj72994 жыл бұрын
@@Fonzi79Are you replying to me? Because I did not indicate the point in any way, that the bank would just give them a house for free. Of course it doesn't work like that. You gotta have money to spend, and money to spare.

Still enjoying catching up on ones I missed. Wow the '80s are referred to in a lot of ways, I think one of them was the decade of excess. I think this house really epitomizes that time and way of thinking then. Mostly by young urban professionals or just younger wealthy people probably. The exercise equipment in the basement even pays homage to the workout craze that began in the early eighties lol. As much as I do love and prefer MCM . I do have an appreciation for contemporary styles also. This house had a lot of nice touches one being that fireplace of course, it was really beautiful! The bathrooms were incredible .
