@@Applekinz I really appreciate that I'll give it a look. Although I'm feeling heartbroken enough about the whole situation without seeing it before all of the destruction. I just commented that I hope people were able to get in there and remove some of the more memorable items before he managed to destroy everything. You wonder how many people responded when they get an invitation from a crazy person to come on out to isolated area and take whatever they want. I think I might have been a bit nervous. LOL

I feel so bad about those animatronics, especially the Rockafire Explosion ones. They're pretty valuable and rare. Shame they just have to sit there and rot away, with there being people out there that just dream of having them..

Who knows--maybe someone who's interested in that stuff can go up and get them. I mean, even the old owner told the public they could take what they wanted, and they'd be better off rather then just left there. I'd like if they were able to rescue the old piano/organ and stuff as well. A little love to the woodwork and some tuning maybe and blammo!

This makes me so sad.. man this place was my childhood, it genuinely hurts to know this place has gone to shit. I remember guntown mountain, my father and mother took me one year and watched the gun show, then got food and stuff. I still have the cowboy boot glass I got there, and the thing I got from one of the dancers. Geez how I miss this place

I am doing research for a family vacation and found that someone new has bought and reopened it! It has some lovely reviews of how it is similar to its hayday! The lift is still defunct but they have the shows, some small rides, and shops open!

Although the characters were scattered all over, this place had not only the rockafire explosion but an almost full second band called the Circus World Jamboree Show. 3:25 is Barney the Bear 20:45 is Lucy the Lioness 24:18 Peter the Penguin I didn't see poor Lucky the Lion, but I also did poke through the video a lot so I might've missed it or he got looted.

I grew up around this place back in the 70’s. Remember as a kid I would see the chairlifts moving up and down from the bottom of the mountain it was cool to see

Funtown still has a web site up. I also found some news articles. He lost most of his buisnesses but still runs a festival. He had manic bipolar disorder and went off his meds and lost 2 buisnesses. Pretty sad story. Apparently he is back on meds and doing better now. It was already Guntown mountain before he bought it and turned it into Funtown mountain. Funtown mountain even has a youtube channel haha.

i visited Guntown Mountain as a kid... first time i ever saw cancan dancers (i told my mom on them for showing their underwear) and sat in a saloon... and there was a haunted house, not sure how nearby, that my mom forced me to enter... scared the living shit outta me... good times...

this story is kinda sad. it really shows how drugs can mess you up. will used to be my dad's friend. he actually worked there for a bit and sticked with will for the last days leading to his arrest(wills) I remember dad coming home saying "he went mad!"

i still think about this place sometimes. it's so interesting and unnerving how Russel just went completely bonkers and essentially tore the place down. it's depressing seeing the animatronics just laying there on the floor and all the family's photos just laying there, discarded on the desks and floors. abandoned places used to be super interesting to me.

In the Netherlands there is still a very old amusement park in western style its called: PonyPark Slagharen. Search it up it is real amazing.

Seeing Billy Bob and Fatz Geronimo in such a state of disrepair is heartbreaking. The whole park in that state is also heartbreaking. There are Rock-a-Fire Explosion collectors who could use those two for parts or possibly restore them. Awesome video, Jacob! Thanks!
