I love the detailing you did on this mustang. I had a great find myself. I found my mustang sitting in a garage of a house around the block from where I live. Two elderly ladies were cleaning out their parents house. In the garage was the mom's 66 mustang that was sitting for 24 years. The ladies told that their father bought the car for their mother for their anaversery of the El Monte show room floor in 1966. The mom was a house wife that only used it for going to the market and run get around. These ladies didn't need the money they were pertty well off so they told me to make them an offer. I didn't have much and told them I could only give them $3000 cash and these amazing ladies totally bless me and said it was a deal. It's all original the Sauterne gold with the air condition it has 289 2v 8cyl engine. I just had to rebuild the carb. And change the gas tank. It does have a rip in the driver's seat and door pain came off. So it need interior work. I would love to have it detailed the way you did because I know it can look much better then was able to get it. I got the original paper work and fina write up cost. The price the ladies father paid in 1966 was $3017.90. It was $17.90 more then I bought it for. Ready for the big kicker? It only has 35,000 miles on the original Engin.

For a barn-find, it's in amazing condition. Apart from needing a damn good clean (which you provided) it's in excellent condition. I just wish I had the money to buy it. Keep up the great work Brent 👍🇬🇧

This is the type of barn find restro/detail I want to see, not trying to polish a turd or clean something that is beyond cleaning. Things being replaced that need to be then the rest of the car being detailed to bring it up to scratch. Turned out great

Great job! For an abandoned barn find the car is a remarkably good condition. Probably received a lot of TLC. Personally I would have done the interiors first. Put the car on a hydraulic hoist, taken off the wheels and cleaned the bottom and wheel wells, and opened the hood and cleaned the engine bay.

I got a new Mustang in 1965 when I was 16 yrs old. It was burgundy with a white pony interior, 289. I have fond memories of "dragging the gut" on Friday and Saturday nights with my friends. I think the Mustang you restored is either a 66 or 67.....really nice work.

It’s so easy to tell first gen mustangs apart. 64/65 side faux vent slots behind the doors are one long chrome piece, 66 (still using the same body) had one long chrome piece with 3 horizontal chrome off the longitudinal piece. Grille differences are apparent. Now 67 (the one you have) was a new body style and has two faux vent slots and was the last year for the 289 V8. 1968 went to the 302 and has no fake vent slots it just terminates into the quarter panel, with a similar look to the 65 style sans the chrome. 69 and 70 followed the same pattern of a two year run on body styles and then we got the land yacht mustangs from 71 to 73. I like them too but prefer the 60s models over them. I’m finishing up a 69 Fastback I inherited from my dad (Covid), that’s nearly done. We had a 67 Fastback in the 80s we were restoring till it was totaled out while parked on the street by a drunk driver. Dad loved Fastbacks, I do to but actually prefer the coupes.

‘67. Used to drive my brother’s back in 1973-74. It was 289 4 barrel, with 3 speed floor shift. It was red pant and red interior, with turn signals in hood, and steering wheel that swung away when opening the door.

Thats a 67 with a 68 hood (unless this car had the Ford Exterior Decor Group but this does not seem to be the case as it does not have the pop open gas cap and the bright metal molding around the wheel openings). The fuel cap is from a 68 Mustang (The standard gas cap for 1967 has a three-bar spinner style with the familiar tri-color running horse logo inside its ceramic center). Car has been reupholstered (which is expected on 55 y.o. car) as the normal padding on the 67 seats is not that puffy as in the video. Nice vid... keep them coming !!!!
