Congratulations on your new place. It is awesome! Just a few suggestions: Get a wood stove that you can cook on too. It will heat you up for very little money!! Also, put plastic sheeting over the loft opening leaving it over lapped in the middle for access. It will help keep your heat or cooling downstairs where you want it. Excited to see your progress in the new place!

Very nice cabin

I have a 2009 KIA Borrego 9 passenger with 15,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2011. I love this SUV, its built on a truck chaise drives easy n very good on gas . In fall of 201I I drove it from Tenn to Arizona with a 10 ft trailer fully loaded. Great mileage 34mpg with trailer. No major repairs in ten years just tires, battery, brakes n alternator reg oil changes and still gives me 34-38 mpg on open road, so KIA will give you good service for 100,000 miles plus per Manufacturer specs

Great buy... job is big but results so worth it. Think about putting side blocks for support of the steps on the ladder going upstairs.

I'd be sleeping in that loft. Heat rises and that loft is probably at least 10 degrees warmer. Looking forward to watching this project. Congratulations on your off grid cabin!

Dunno why your channel was recommended lol, but it’s a good watch. I’m doing something similar. I moved from a densely populated city to 5 acres surrounded by Amish farms. It’s a different lifestyle for sure. Only advice I can offer, besides getting a wood burning stove, is to sleep up in the loft. Heat rises. Up near the ceiling is where the heat will eventually be. You can use fans to circulate the air, but down near the floor will be the coldest. You have more woods on your property than I do, so sometimes I buy wood. It equals out to be about $60/month to heat my home with wood. Once spring comes around, I can see what trees can be felled, and that’ll be next winters wood. Anyway, good luck, and stay warm!

Hey man! I’m Ken from Nova Scotia. You got yourself a rate good fine cabin there. Having basically the shell gives a place to start putting your own twist to on it. A wood stove, something you can cook on would be a bonus. There’s no heat like wood heat.
