I miss the pine cones, almost. (It felt like it was something to pay attention to but I didn't know what.) My "Aah-ha!-Moment" was when Melissa was saying: "This lady had tiny feet." And at the end of one episode where Josh and Alex was outside the house and about to end the day. I reckoned (?) the outside ground and how the front lawn looked like. I dont know how, this was in dark winter and when he was there to take the car it was bright summer. When I saw that I... no, my brain put it together to Melissa's comment and I remember the tiny lady with colourful clothes. But I wasn't sure. Later in some episode read a comment where someone gave some more clues and he/she was more sure than me. Talk about the old photo Alex have shown of the (then younger) lady and the resembling of the old lady he drown in the caddy. So I looked thru several videos until I found this one. This was about when Alex had uploaded episode 6 or something. So I have "known" for a while. But not been 100% sure because the brain can fool you sometimes.

So true! I think it was the same clothes hanging in the garage on the left too. Was it a Christian Dior shirt? (The light coloured one) I can’t remember, but I found myself going back to the interior of the garage and seeing recognisable things from the garage episode. Amazing how much stuff ended up going in there after the car was removed.

That car is just BEAUTIFUL! I can't believe it is pretty much prestine. I don't get why clothing styles circle around and then reappear , but car designers don't seem interested in paying homage to design elements of the past. Because I must say, the lines of this car are just so pleasing to look at, and the fins just add such flair and style. Speaking of Flair and style, I just adore the woman who sold you the car, she was delightful! Congrats on the new car, Alex!

I had one of these. I loved it. I learned a few things too, like.... Replace all four shocks when you have the tires replaced, it will make a BIG difference in how it rides and handles, trust me. I noticed the car droops a bit on the rear passenger side, probably because of a dried-out shock. Also....clean air filter and fuel filters make a big difference in how it runs and the fuel efficiency. You got a gem....a dusty, dirty one at first gaze, but a real gem. Vintage Cadillacs are awesome.

I used to have one just like that and I loved it. I had it for over 25 years before my husband made me sell it because he was afraid of it due to it's age, but it drove like a dream and the engine was great. We sold it to a father and son. They bought it to redo the interior, spit shine the engine (which I always kept clean myself) and the whitewall tires were in great shape. They entered it into a classic car show in the U.S.A. the next year and took first place. They were kind enough to bring it by to show me the new upholstery (same color, etc.) and show me their 1st place trophy. I still miss that car. It was the best car I have ever owned.

Haha! A male just a friend in HS in the mid 70s had a cream colored one of these, demonstrated that the front and back seats folded down together to make a giant kingsized mattress; he extended an invite to the drive in and then to park at a vista with a gorgeous view over the lights of our tourist town and the bay after on Summer day... to my bff, her boyfriend, and me. Other than embarassment over the noises from the back seat I was happily engrossed in the movie a solid four feet from him, and chattered his ear off about the view and what different lights were for hours and hours after. It wasn't until my wedding reception line a good 3+ years later that I grasped what escaped me then as he nearly bent me double backwards and knocked my picture hat askew as he kissed me thoroughly inappropriately in my reception line and then announced he'd been waiting years to do that, lol. But according to my bff that backseat was better than her bed at home, haha!!!

Depending on how it's driven on the highway it will get from 18 mpg up to 22 mpg.. They were way more efficient than what we are led to believe. My parents 55 and 58 Chevy's got 20 to 22 mpg, my 69 Buick Electra got up to 25 mpg and my 63 Dodge 440 sedan with a 318 Poly engine currently gets 22 mpg. The older cars get their best mileage when the engine is running at 2250 rpm, which on a car like this Cadillac is around 70-75 mph.

I remember all the pine cones that were found in the car so the number he found in today's video aren't a surprise. In the short videos she appeared in she seemed lovely, one of those people that, if you were friend's with her, that was always happy and nice and you enjoyed. I'm sure she would be happy to know Alex was the one clearing her house. I remember the first time watching this thinking I liked her style. She didn't change at all in later life.

Actually, I drive a Cadillac still today. Number 6 that I have owned and the strange thing is, all of them that I can recall got excellent gas mileage for such a big car! The one I drive today has 4.6 liter V8 and gets 30 miles to the gallon at cruise speed! 02 DeVille :) beautiful cars!

My grandfather had a Catty just like this except it was silver and the fins were bigger. What a vehicle! This brings back memories! I would pull the middle part down between the seats and sit on it when I was a little kids.

This is the true beauty of KZfaq. These are the cars of my childhood. My family had them, my aunts and uncles had them, and Chryslers. They were just the automobile of the times. I had forgotten how beautiful these old Caddy's were. Now that America, American society and culture are gone, it's even more prescient to preserve these relics.

Make sure you go through the entire brake system, replace all fluids and carefully inspect (and ideally replace) each and every rubber line on the car. After sitting that long many of them including brake hoses will be suspect.
