Yes, she is 😄 But you may be in for a surprise. Horses need some time to adjust to new surroundings. Give it 3 to 5 weeks and we'll see. I:ve seen it quite a few Times that horses started to get feisty when they felt secure. I'm looking forward to See how she's going to react.

Nattie looked wonderful running around the grassy paddock. She is only a baby, not even a yearling yet, so those shoes were ridiculous and rather cruel in my opinion. @@nogames8982 Horses need shoes in some places. In the Rocky Mountains, for instance, if you are riding a lot, they need shoes to protect their feet from too much wear, which can make them foot sore. Imaging tearing your fingernail below the nail bed. That's similar to a horse having their feet worn down too much. Now when I tear my fingernail below my nail bed, I can bandage it up and quit using it for a while. A horse cannot do that. They are a prey animal so even sleep standing up in the wild. But in the winter time I would take mine off, and just trim them every 6-8 weeks. Then in the spring, if I was going to be riding one or more of them a lot, I would put shoes on those horses and just trim the others.

@@alycewich4472 these people do not live in the Rocky Mountains. there are some horses and some circumstances that require shoes. But I think it’s pretty safe to say that a mass majority do not. Their horses that are ridden and worked do need shoes because their roads are very rocky. JR mentioned that when Oliver was getting his first shoes. I dont think the brood mares or Bob have them because they're on the grassy areas of their homestead for the most part.

@@jillp3761 From what I've read, shoeing show stock tends to get them to pick their feet up more--kind of exaggerated movement. Similar to walking horse shows only not that bad--those are just awful and it does a lot of damage to feet and leg joints. Anyway, the idea of shoeing draft horses before a big sale is to get fancier movement, thereby supposedly helping get a better price. JMHO, not necessary with babies.

@alycewich4472
@alycewich4472 Ай бұрын
JR mentioned the breeder is the one who told him how tall her sire and dam were, so my guess is there are farriers who specialize in working with the draft horse breeds. This was a big fancy sale of Clydesdale horses only. It might be the norm with the breed when they are selling as show stock, but I think you're right about the stress on the foals/young stock's joints and legs when dealing with this type of shoe at such an early age. But maybe they only do it during show season and leave them barefoot the rest of the year.
@casdragon_5939

@@alycewich4472 Its not even the norm for show stock. I live in a big clyde/percheron area and its bad practice to put shoes on youngsters. I don't know a farrier around me that would even do it.

My guess is that this is her first set of shoes as she's very young to have to have any at all. Now that we know that that's what they use in the show ring, she doesn't need any at all for the near future. JR will only put some on if he thinks she will need them, just as he does with the rest of the horses. And if he does, I cannot imagine him using that type of shoe on her. It may make their stride prettier in the show ring, by pulling a wagon alongside Oliver, she has no need for that.

That poor little girl. Those front shoes looked like a medieval tortue with the shape and amount of shoe! What a lucky girl to end up with such a loving and caring new family. I'm sure she's going to be very happy, especially when she gets to meet the other horses and play! Thank goodness for people like you! 🙏♥🐎

NATTIE is GORGEOUS‼️ Now she will grow up and have a better life with with your whole family‼️ The best food and treats will restore her and she will get up to a good weight, grow and flourish with your great loving care‼️ Those shoes coming off will be such a relief for her‼️ She can run, play and frolic around on your farm as much as a baby, NATTIE, filly should‼️ May the good lord continue to bless all you‼️ 💯💯💯💯💯♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

So happy you guy's got Nattie, from what I see in her calmness the offspring from her and Oliver might be a very good horse. I do believe you have a very good bloodline with those two...😊

1:39 I feel like Becca got a hug from Nattie right here!! That neigh was so heartwarming!!! 3:51 Instead of NomNom, she was feeling more, ChompChomp!!! 5:25 Ohhhhh, I love her neighing back!!! 5:29 Wow, she's so calm.❤ I'm so happy for Nattie, your family, all of us viewers, and of course, Oliver getting to run the pasture with this baby girl!!! If you have a writer in the family, they need to write a children's book about Oliver coming to the farm, his story of being saved, healed, and restored through our father's love, God. Then, the story of Nattie and how everything is in the hands of our Lord, who knows what's best for us, ALL, but we have to trust in him and his timing because a few videos back, not only did I comment about how God's hand and timing would bring the right horse into your life, but sooooo many other viewers said the same!! Just like Oliver, Nattie has truly been sent from God. It's such an awe inspiring story of God's love and timing, plus, how our faith pulls us through life's disappointments, sickness, and times of grief. I truly see a series of books, and know that I had to share that seed with you, since he's put that on my heart many times, but today it was stronger, so here's the seed, how it will be cared for, who knows??!!

Yes please, someone in the family write their stories. Self publish if necessary cause you know your viewers will purchase the books. And you have all the photos you need due to Emori for any books. Emori your photography skills are amazing. You could also put together a coffee table book of just photos of all the horses and other animals and scenery. It would make a great Christmas gift!!

I absolutely agree with the children’s books. Emory has such a beautiful turn of phrase and a gorgeous reading voice. I think she could write the books and also do audio books. They would be so precious. I could listen to Emory all day. ❤❤❤

What a beautiful gentle sweet horse. So sad that she was separated from her mom and possibly her herd so young. Thank god she is now in a beautiful new home with lots of love and new friends. I am sure she will thrive as the weeks go by.

What a beautiful girl! She is a fine looking horse. A business associate of mine has Clydesdale horses and Arabians. He has one Clydesdale named Big Jake who is 26 years old 20 hands high and tops off 2,350 pounds. He is massive in size. Every morning when I drive down the road to the office past him, he runs over to the fence near where I park my pickup regardless of where he is in the pasture.. He expects his daily treat of a few sugar cubes, or carrots or apples or water Mellon. If I forget the treats, he pouts. I have spoiled him. He is also very protective of the other Clydesdales. Jake loves to get baths and be brushed. I suspect this girl will grow to about 1600-1700 pounds and about 16 hands high. She seems well natured and very happy. Y'all are lucky you got her.

I'm head over heels, and I have a feeling Oliver will be too. She's his perfect opposite, brimming with personality, chatty and playful. Unlike Oliver, the gentle giant-calm, easy-going. In a previous video, you mentioned Oliver's behavior becoming somewhat unpredictable. I like to think he's just going through his teenage phase.😆 Looking forward to the next video!

❤❤NATTIE is such a sweetheart and adores all of the attention (except for the worm med & front shoe. removal). Good food & fresh water & lots of sleep time has really helped. She has really been thru a lot for such a young girl.....thank God she didn't have EPM like Oliver had to go thru. Thanks for the update and God bless.....❤😊❤😊
