I drove a 1998, 1999 and a 2004 police crown Vic while I worked for the Jacksonville police department. These cars were true work horses.

One of my friends works at a Ford Dealership in my hometown of Gonzales Texas & he tells me those Ford Crown Victoria can Get up & go he changes the oil on them & air filter but that's when the crown vics were still around now it's just Ford SUVs police cars

Great vid. I had a 2011 CVPI. The seats are thick because they are stab proof, they have some Kevlar in the middle to stop any knives. Some also come with ballistic bulletproof panels in the door

Id love to see this get fixed at a body shop as you can tell its had a front end collision in its past because of the alignment of the hood, mismatched grill fascia (which is fiberglass) and the aftermarket headlights that don't line up correctly

As a vic owner myself im surprised the seats even came out most vics ive seen the seat bolts rust out and snap (i think i only saw one snapped bolt) im also surprised the driver seat isnt torn at all from getting in and out especially when the officers gun belt keeps rubbing the fabric

Just a quick tip. If you're doing a repo car, make sure you double glove. And not too long ago you guys were sent a car by the cops for you to clean. Make sure you double glove, and there are these gloves on the market that will prevent you from being cut or pierced, wear a hazmat suit and a mak. You never know what you're gonna find. Sometimes i get a little bit worried about you guys working with all of these biohazard vehicles. I don't want you guys to get hurt in any way you know... You guys are my favorite. And as far as why the seats are so thick... My best guess is just some extra protection. Shit hits the fan in cop cars sometimes. 😬

You could definitely find a front / rear bumper and fender really cheap. Then just give the car a fresh coat of paint and it’ll look awesome

Amazing job. I have a 2011 CVPI and I wish I had the time to clean it this good 😂. And btw you should probably switch to the newer Crown Vic steel wheels because the older ones were recalled, I think they broke in half or something I don’t remember

Your vic reminds me of mine when I first got it, not filthy, but the fact it was in a pure white with a few spots where the paint was peeling like mine (though, i guess that's not really uncommon at all, seeing it's a cop car). What year is yours, if I may ask?

This is a Pre 2005 model with the cable driven throttle body which is 100% better. It’s one of the years from 1998-2004. I’m going to guess 2001, but this might be a 2004 model.

I've had a chance to drive a few of those in my career. I bet that was a detective or admin car. The seats don't have the wear pattern from the gun and radio wearing a big hole in them. They don't make 'em like that anymore for sure.

The seats are really wide to accommodate the duty belt officers wear when they drive it, normal width seats are too narrow and the equipment on the belt gets hung up when getting in and out.

Police Interceptors have the thicker front seat because cops do lots of sitting...and also, duty belts with all the accessories and firearm can weigh up to 20 lbs. It's reinforced for extreme wear.
