Vrana (Crow) was a Fortress City (9-17th Ce.) that was the site of many battles throughout its history. Donated to the Papal State by the Croatian King, Zvonimir, it was then handed over to the Knights Templar, a mysterious order of Knights and Medieval Bankers. Vrana was fought over by the Croatian Noble Families and then changed hands several times between the Venetians and Ottomans. During the Cretan War the Venetians destroyed it by bombing it for 4 days straight with cannons and mortars to prevent its use by the Ottomans. It sits in ruins ever since.
Nearby is a beautiful cave-spring that once was the source of the Ancient Roman Aqueduct to Zadar. There was a Roman Shrine there, and traces may still remain. Throughout history it was visited by many noble families including the Habsburgs and of course the Knights and Kings of Vrana.

Oh wow, you have outdone yourself this time...what a once in a lifetime experience and such a powerful history lesson for the ages. As a person who loves history, this is my favorite episode yet. The aqueducts were a marvel unrivaled at that time, such a feat of brilliant engineering. So many of the ancients had such vast knowledge of sophisticated workings it boggles the modern mind, I could hear in your voice the excitement you felt at being where history was wrought, walking through as if time had stopped. I would have had a heart attack just seeing you walk along the ancient walls with virtual inches to put your feet on !!! It puts me in mind of a mountain goat, sure-footed and at home in its environment. The hopelessly in-bred Hapsburgs but by far not the only family to think that marrying brothers and sisters and other mind-numbing combinations of family members would make them even more royal and the bloodlines pure. They surely made a name for themselves but for all the wrong reasons. Amazing editing and cinematic achievement, the background music playing ever so gently in the background enough to create an amazing atmosphere but not overpowering as to drown out your voice and the message it carried. As you can see I have not lost my ability to be ever so long and wordy LOL !!! I laughed when the water got deeper and you almost started singing the high notes👍!!! Awesome from start to finish my friend, bravo
