Sunset Hospital is a former hospital and aged care facility located in Dalkeith, Western Australia. Built in 1904-1906 it was decommissioned in 1995 and was classified by the National Trust in 1993 and heritage listed in 1997. The buildings has sat, mostly empty since. The land on which Sunset was built was originally chosen as an out-of-the-way site, the suburb of Dalkeith has developed into one of Perth’s most exclusive suburbs, with an average house price in the millions of dollars. Sunset is one of Western Australia’s largest and most intact heritage sites. The area now sits largely empty and waiting on restoration/renovation into a heritage precinct for the arts and culture.
