I live in the area and grew up going there… closed around 2014, and the Kmart down the road closed around 2016.

Store closed because of the property management firm. In its hay day there was a perry drugs, great Scott's, dress barn, detroit bagel, Minnesota fabrics, aco hardware, TJ Maxx, video rental store and before the TJ Maxx there was a movie theater in there.

I used to work Kroger back in the late 90’s one of the reasons why they closed a lot of their stores is because they wanted to get rid of the union members second like you said they didn’t want to renew their lease and last made a company merger with Harris teeter

Hi Wallie, I live in Detroit and I remember when this Kroger Store used to be a Great Scott!Supermarket back in the day. I remember when Great Scott!Supermarkets wasn't able to meet union demands. And Great Scott!Supermarkets were going to close the stores and Kroger has bought the the Great Scott!Supermarket chain and rebranded Great Scott!Supermarkets to Kroger Stores years ago. That's is just about the history of the old abandoned Kroger Store in the Parkway Plaza in Clinton Township. I used to work at the Kmart Store located on North Groesbeck Hwy and Cass in Mt. Clemens until Kmart closed permanently on Sunday May 8,1996.

That shopping center has been neglected and dying for a long time. The owners wanted to turn it into a mary jane grow facility but the township blocked the plans. The center was sold to new owners who are finally remodeling. The Kroger is supposed to became a family entertainment center according to a leasing flyer.

I somewhat remember Kroger's in the Pittsburgh area, hasn't been one around for years

Kroger didn't want to renew lease because the old owner wanted to much in rent. You next to a hospital and police station so yes you will hear sirens

I remember shopping at my Local Kroger Supermarket sadly went out of Business Harris Teeter and Five & Below took over the spot were Kroger was standing.

Blows my mind this is on KZfaq. I lived on 15 and Gratiot, this Kroger is located on 16 and Grosebeck, so only a mile and a half away from each other, and I used to go there every single Sunday with my dad and brother. I can vividly remember going in there and stealing cheat codes out of the gaming magazines for our PS1 games or posters out of the rock magazines lol. When I was about 10 years old, we walked into the front door that he first approached and some guy there was offering picture for your family that they took inside the store. So my dad, who never did that kind of stuff, bought the package. So my brother and I have this picture I absolutely loathe of us two that was taken in the employee break room of that Kroger. Crazy to see how that plaza is just nothing. That was a BUSY place at one time. You had that Kroger, CVS, dollar store, at one time a sports memorabilia store, Subway, that lot was always full. Now there’s nothing. But I remember that store so well I could draw out the floor plan in my head. Cool video.

Hi Wallie, im local to the area. if i can remember correctly that Kroger closed in 2017 or so due to “Poor Grocery Conditions”. it closing basically killed the entire shopping plaza as you can see: the American Furniture was a TJ Maxx that ended up moving around like 4 years ago now; the old Nail Salon on the end of the strip was a subway which built itself a new location in the parking lot. the Rite Aid closed within the past year i believe as well. PS: i can not believe that Dollar Tree is building a newer location rather than moving, that plaza is never gonna get revived with much else

Last time I went to THAT Kroger was around the summer of 1984, just before moving out of the area. I was a kid then. I don't believe that particular Kroger location was even open around 2007-08.

Please please please, go do my old childhood mall, its been slated to close the 17th. Its been open since the 60s. unfortunately due to an economic downturn in the area, it declined rapidly since the 2000s, to no fault of its own. So many good memories there. I have moved away so unfortunately I may not be able to go. Rip the Tulsa promenade 1965-2023. You will forever be missed. (It's being closed for many reasons, ranging from insane outstanding dept to the all so numerous safety and fire code violations.) Been a fan since 2017 when I stumbled apon a video of kmart
