This place is incredible! That it was built for ordinary citizens is a credit to soviet times ! The cost of renovation does not seem high compared to other palaces being built in that area nowadays! Really enjoyed this video- so nice to meet your sister 😍

Thank you for the footage! I stayed in 2000 in an operating sanatorium for a conference. This was near Moscow (Zelenograd). I can still feel the bad smell over there, especially around the toilet blocks. However: The park was idyllic and the food in the central "restaurant" was great! I love you and your video's!

What a magnificent structure. It should be repurposed into a University or Government Offices building. You should pick up seeds or clippings from the many varieties of trees at this place and take them back to your hometown area to replant them. This is why you should always carry a few sandwich bags with you on your journeys. Aaaassss, your self-appointed safety officer, I would like to strongly recommend that you always take with you a walking stick. It can be used to touch and move objects, to keep your hands from injury; PLUS, it is useful to ward off potentially dangerous animals, like a wild dog.

What a great video and beautiful place! Thanks Svetlana and Sonia for breaking the rules on our behalf. I like the idea of Lenin holding different things depending upon where his statue is. For some reason, it makes me want to see him holding a soccer ball in front of a sport’s stadium.

It meant to be for ordinary people to vacate and get medical /spa treatments. At no cost as tours provided by the state. Normally factories, schools, agriculture entities etc had quotas how many can go each year. It was called "putyovka". Usually someone was rewarded for hard work etc to be eligible. Probably that was an elite place but there were many other healthcare/spa centers in the country. Also for kids the famous summer camp Artek.

It’s a beautiful place, lovely grounds. You’re right the world needs to see such beauty. Sad to see it so. Forgive me for a English language correction: when you say ‘territory’ one would normally say in English, ‘the grounds of the sanitarium.’ Grounds being the land on which it sits.

Your videos are amazing. This one, in particular, is a favorite. I love abandoned spaces. There's something both mysterious and nostalgic about them. Close to where is an old abandoned amusement park. It's both creepy and cool. Someday soon, when COVID isn't such an obstacle, I do so hope to visit Russia. Such a lovely country with such a rich history. Dare I ask if you might be willing to be a guide?

we had beautiful sanatoriums here in the usa that have also been closed and torn down and the reason is the government just doesnt want to spend alot on housing the mentally ill they would rather have doctors prescribe anti depressant pills and let the patients fend for themselves or have relatives take care of them

Wow. What a stunning place! Surely this has to be restored sooner rather than later! It would cost a vast sum to build from scratch! I think Abkhazia too has numerous beautfiul places like this. Would be nice for Abkhazia to join the Ru Fedn too. Then the Russian Riviera would be even bigger.. and with Crimea, why would Russians ever want to leave Russia for the sun!

@@maria.5974 Yes of course. I meant that Southern Russian could potentially have many brilliant destinations. Altho I know some of it could benefit from modernisation. I live in England. I went to Mexico 4star all good quality food and drink free (Playa del Carmen) for a week 750 GB Pounds. And about 920 ish for 2 weeks. The same thing with awful weather in England would cost probably 4000 GB pounds per person.

@@ismith8053 Yes, I agree. I have been to UK (Jersey) and situation is similar: great coast and once famous resort, but these days cheaper for Britons to go to Cyprus or Spain. Actually, I adore Crimea and been to fantastic places there, but since 2005 have been going mostly to Turkey, package tours much cheaper.
