Abandoned The Highways Tower Block Flats ~ Leeds
HISTORY
The two tower blocks known as The Highway’s, are owned by Leeds City Council.
All tenants quite some time back, was given eviction orders and good will gesture pay out, a few accepted and want with no fuss but we had one who stayed to very end.
The end plan for the flats, is to demolition them to build family homes which to
Me yes maybe it sounds ok but I’n long wrong wasn’t needed as over 100 family’s been moved on. Why not improve facilities would been a lot better.
Both blocks were built in the early 1960s. Both are 10 storeys high and have a total 120 homes.
I’ve had my eyes on theses flats for absolute months now and I had get in there say done, love local explore near to home. Unfortunately the scrapers and gypsy’s have been in too. Drainers, pipes wiring, you name it it’s been stripped.
