Yes, Benny and Bjorn were great composers and lyricist's, but Agnetha and Frida put the final important touch on it to make ABBA one of the greatest groups.

I was a hardcore progressive rock fan when these guys showed up on the scene with their win at the Eurovision Song Contest,( Waterloo). I fell in love with their pop songs almost immediately and was always too embarrassed to admit it to my friends lol!

I'm 52 years old. I listened this song when I was a child and, I must confess, I didn't understand its letter, I just liked its music but I didn't enjoy enough . However, nowadays, this is one of my favorites Abba's songs because I had to divorce to understand. This song describe everything I felt and I lived.

Just cant believe how absolutely amazing this group is. Years ago when ABBA was recording to me they were just another nice group to listen to. But today after I take the time to actually listen to and watch them I have come to realize just how unbelieveable they are.

We were spoiled, there was so much good, original music about then that ABBA were just another fabulous group among many. It's because now we know what trash sounds like, having lived through these years of auto-tuned, manufactured bands with songs written for them by a team of 'songwriters' designed purely to make money and nothing else, we can look back and wish we'd paid more attention to this stuff when it seemed ordinary. The Voice, Got Talent, X Factor have a lot to answer for.

My girlfriend of almost 3 years broke up with me with this song. I can not be any more thankful to her for opening her mind to me with such a cheerful tune and giving me the gift of such a beautiful song even when she's saying goodbye as she did at the beginning of our relationship. I'd say to anybody reading this just one thing: When you date someone in a long-term relationship, always be really yourself. Don't avoid it with the fear of losing that person ;-|

@@JK-pj2nw Like life does. So many things happened, mostly shitty with some sprinkles of good stuff every now and then, just enough to keep you going. Looking back, I'd recommend one thing to younger people : Unless it's an entirely toxic relationship, try to fix what you have rather than chasing waterfalls. Here's why: New relationships just mean starting over from zero with a new person. You'll find that it's easier to fix YOU than to waste time searching for some magical creature that'll make everything better. What's worse: The more people you have, the more "just another one, nothing special" it'll get. Not because the people you meet aren't special, just that whole process will get 'casual'. If we use a sports analogy: Sure, the first time you dunked, your first crowd-raising dunk with a team; those will feel always incomparably more special. Even though you develop your skills and dunk the game winning hoop to get the championship.

Unquestionably one of the classic number one hit singles of the 1970's. Abba were a very, very talented group, and I believe that they have sold something in the region of 350,000,000 records/CD's (worldwide) since the beginning of 1974 ...... a remarkable achievement, that. When one considers the fact that English was not their first language, the lyrics of their songs were very good indeed ...... brilliant, actually.

Every aspect of that performance was so thoroughly rehearsed with nothing overlooked. Great song. Part of it can be attributed to raw talent and good chemistry as a group. But equally important is endless long hours of hard work.

One of ABBAs best songs ( IMHO ) and saddest too! Great memories with this tune, Frida's lead vocals are tops (very ironic with a foretaste of what would come in the near future with both of the couples ) Also Frida & Agnetha's harmonies on this were top shelf ! Band was top notch tight ( as always !) & the ladies were so...uber gorgeous in these ABBA In Japan special video clips !

What a haunting but beautiful song. This always reminds me of my wonderful aunt from England. In one of her trips to the states (in '77) this song was still new. She loved it. We were driving to Niagara Falls as a family & this came on the radio. She asked to turn it up & sang along. She had a good voice so it was impactful. From then on, I always associated the tune with her & thank God, she is still going strong! And finally, I must comment just how great Agnetha & Anni-Frid's legs look here!

I grew up on this music and always LOVED ABBA. Re-visited just to hear the sultry luscious voices again. Being an un-loyal partner in a relationship occurs too much today. My heart melted when this group broke up over an infidelity by one of these couples. Being a man, I can certainly understand the temptation to break a trust, however, I am reminded every single time of my vow to my wife. The only thing in life she ever wanted from me is to be loyal to her. I cannot ever betray that trust, though I often think about it. I simply cannot break a trust. The Lord has been to good to me.

In the late 70's when I was around 11 or 12 I bought a 70's hits vinyl record and one of the songs was ABBA's Dancing Queen. I would put headphones on and listen to it over and and over again. That is the most memorable of all of ABBA's quality. It is so pleasing and fun that I want to keep the experience over and over, forever.

This song takes me back to an incident in my past. I had just had a row with my then girlfriend in the car park of the Middleton Arms in Penkridge. When we had both calmed down, we went into the pub. This song was playing. So appropriate!

I saw ABBA on stage in the park of my hometown of Malmö the summer of 1974, just after their big breakthrough. They all had several years of experience from touring around Sweden making live performances in small towns, it was the only way you could have a musical career back then, before tv-shows like Idol. So even if they didn't make many tv-performances live they all had a lot experience from performing music live on stage.
