The SNL sketches that are funny enough and work get aired. If she wasn’t used enough, that means she didn’t write enough sketches that were funny enough or worked. She not underrated and she wasn’t underused.

Looked at her IMDB because I didn’t know she was on SNL. And somehow didn’t make the connection watching The Bear that she played the craziest GF Ted had on HIMYM that made him decide it was finally time to really settle down.

There's a reason why you were probably unaware of her tenure. It's because, throughout the entirety of it, she (and all the other female cast members) was overshadowed by Kristen Wiig, who was pretty much the "star" of the show during Abby's tenure to the point where they'd give her roles that probably should've gone to the other women.

It should be said more often that Abby is entertainment royalty. Her father is Chris Elliott from Letterman, and her grandfather is Bob Elliott of Bob and Ray, radio and television shows that ran from the '40s up to the '80s.

Loved her on SNL, like many I felt her tenure was too short. I found it funny when I found out back then she's Chris Elliott's (who also was on SNL) daughter since he hasn't changed much visually since Groundhog Day, even though he's in his 60's.

If Chris Elliott was still under his old stairs, then he'd be haunting Kelly Clarkson. Her show is taped in 6A where Letterman taped. Seth's a couple floors up in studio 8G, next to SNL's studio 8H.

@@zuckussman- It was there for a long time, about 27 years total, combining Letterman and Conan O'Brien. When Jimmy Fallon took over from Conan, the show shifted next door to 6B, the same studio Johnny Carson's first 10 years of the Tonight Show was based, and where Fallon hosts the current Tonight Show. That’s how entertainment has worked forever. No one else wanted to do it. In history most jobs were passed down. Now entertainment is hugely lucrative. It used to be a bit shameful and best left to the Jews. Nepotism is everywhere and in everything all through time. It’s not good but it’s not always bad.
