Blair Kent has been named the new administrator of Intermountain Medical Center, Utah’s largest hospital and medical campus.
He appeared on ABC4 News to talk about his vision for the hospital and the important services it provides to the community as one of only two adult Level I Trauma Centers serving patients in Utah and the Intermountain West.
Kent has served as administrator of Intermountain Healthcare’s Alta View and Riverton hospitals, and has a distinguished career within the Intermountain system. He served as administrator of Alta and Riverton hospitals for the past year, and prior to that served as administrator of Riverton Hospital since it opened in 2008. Last year, Kent led a $53 million expansion of the hospital, which included addition of cancer services to that campus.
“Blair is a very effective leader and is well prepared for this position,” says Joe Mott, associate chief operating officer of Specialty-Based Care at Intermountain Healthcare and Intermountain Medical Center’s previous administrator. “He’s forward thinking and is enthusiastic about Intermountain Medical Center’s vision to be one the premier hospitals in the nation and model referral center for hospitals and patients throughout the Intermountain West.
Kent will be the third administrator in the history of Intermountain Medical Center. He was preceded by Mott and David Grauer.
