Honestly, the video is campy as heck & the song is beginning to show its age but it's unbeatable for nostalgia value & with a few technical changes with today's technology it could be made into a very acceptable contemporary tune.

TOTALLY AGREE. It's like God Himself ordained all those talented and creative artists to suddenly start composing and recording all those fabulous songs at the same time. As the saying goes, it was "an embarrassment of riches".

The Look of Love by ABC is a perfect example of music in the 80's, whatever you wanted you could find from soft to hard or slow to fast we had it all! If you got to grow up in the 50's through the 90's with all the golden classic movies, music and concerts, YOU were blessed!

One of the biggest hits of the 80s. And it will probably be a hit forever. ABC's debut album is almost 100 percent hits. Incredible. Many bands can only do this with a greatest hits album.

Had this song on cassette in my walkman in '82 among Words F.R.David, Abracadabra Steve Miller, I know whats..Frida, Don't go Yazoo, C'mon Eileen Dexys, Avalon Roxy Music....aso on High Life LP. Loooved it so much. Was an epic album. Don' t know if it still exists, sadly.🥲 Haven't seen it 4 a long time.

I remember first time seeing this video on MTV back in the 80s, what an amazing music, video and feeling. MTV actually used to show music videos as intended, not the BS that they show now. What an amazing time period in music and in general, entertainment was the best and memories we built are amazing. Still nostalgic when I hear this music and music from the 80s.

Anyone around at the time will appreciate just how incredible the production was on this masterpiece of an album. Trevor Horn’s genius brought previously unheard layering, depth and clarity to the record which, together with the great work by the amazing Martin Fry and band, makes this an unassailable and unforgettable classic. Just sublime!

It's near impossible not to have a smile on your face, as this song is playing. It's one of those great 80's songs, that just sticks with you for some reason. I remember when this first came out. And I still enjoy it today. Great vocals and a wonderful orchestral background. The 80's were such a better time. You just had such optimism for the present, and for the future. It wasn't perfect of course, nothing ever is. But all in all, it was 1000X's better than now for sure.

Around 2009, I attended an "ABC" show at a small club in San Francisco. Martin Fry was the only original musician, everyone else in the band was either an infant or was not yet born when ABC was in their early 80s heyday.

Keep listening! There were so many great bands that I didn't appreciate them enough until now, looking back. Kajagoogoo, Psychedelic Furs, and New Order come to mind. Dance clubs had so many songs to choose back then that some of the best didn't get much airtime.

This was the first music video I saw when MTV debuted back in '81. It's kooky, but upbeat and everyone in this video seems to be having a blast. The simplicity of the stage is also refreshing, unlike today's overblown productions.

I was 17 when this song was released in 1982. Although the video is silly (most 80s videos were silly), this song was an absolute masterpiece in its day. It's still a work of art. After all these decades, I still listen to ABC. Reminds me so much of my college years, the 1980s.
