The water lily is the national flower of Bangladesh. It symbolizes love and life, and is used in almost every religious ceremony. There are many instances in history where flowers have been given symbolic meanings according to the prevalent culture and era. The stunning blossoms are used as an adornment for ceremonies and celebrations.
Egyptian Symbolism
The water lily symbolized Upper Egypt and was used, along with the papyrus flower, symbol of Lower Egypt, to depict a united country. The blue water lily was sacred to the Egyptians to whom it represented the sun and rebirth.
Hindu and Buddhist Symbolism
Water lilies are an important religious symbol in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. They symbolize resurrection in both spiritual arenas because many of the lilies close their flowers at night and reopen in the morning at first sunlight. Buddhists regard the water lily as a symbol of enlightenment because of the beautiful bloom that emerges from the mud. They also consider the water lily a symbol of purity, spontaneous generation and divine birth.
Bridal Bouquest
Contemporary brides sometimes choose flowers for their bouquets based on the symbolism of the blossom. A water lily represents purity of heart.
In some cultures, flowers depicting symbolic meanings are chosen to decorate bridal bouquets. Some contemporary brides may choose water lilies to adorn their bridal bouquets since it represents chastity and purity of the heart and soul. In Western cultures, eloquence or gracefulness and estranged love is symbolically represented by water lilies.

Mọi bộ phận của hoa Súng đều tuyệt vời. Trừ hoa bằng giấy dún ra, lá và búp làm từ giấy phẳng cũng rất đẹp và giống thật. Bạn quá giỏi! Nhưng mình sẽ làm kích thước lá nhỏ hơn, vì Súng Thái nhà mình lá nhỏ.
