When you're a doctor/surgeon it's not _if_ you will accidentally kill a patient, but when. They're human so they're going to make mistakes. Good thing hospitals having psychologists to help them through the grieving process.

Episode 1x10 Sacrifice: Este episodio fue decepcionante únicamente por la cuestión del abuso. Presentan a un doctor que es al principio muy amable y deja que Claire asuma mayor responsabilidad. Ella se incomoda ante tanta amabilidad y en lugar de dejar que sea un malentendido o que la chica no soporta que la traten bien ¿qué ocurre? Sorpresa, sorpresa... resulta que el doctor se propasa verbalmente. Nadie lo esperaba ¿verdad? Aún a riesgo de que me tachen de machista y sexista diré que esto ha sido un episodio de corte ultra feminista y con claro componente reaccionario. Cuando cuelan una cuestión moral de forma innecesaria y forzada muchas veces se puede vislumbrar errores y roturas en el argumento o en el comportamiento de los personajes. Y esa rotura la vemos en las reacciones de Claire. Se toma con desconfianza la amabilidad del doctor desde el primer momento cuando se supone que su rol es el de una chica de buena voluntad y positiva que no espera lo peor de las personas. Y cuando finalmente ocurre la insinuación del doctor, la reacción de Claire es un poco exagerada. Podía haberse puesto seria, halagada, recelosa o respetuosamente negativa ante la propuesta del doctor... pero no tuvo ninguna de esas posturas. Su respuesta fue enfado y una gran indignación como si le hubiesen escupido a la cara o insultado con palabrotas. ¡Fue solo un hombre mostrando interés por ella! No la tocó indebidamente y aunque se mosqueó con ella no la amenazó laboralmente cuando entendió su rechazo. Cierto que está eso de respetar la relación entre colegas de profesión, pero yo nunca le he visto sentido a eso de no ligar con alguien del trabajo si resulta que ambos se atraen ni cómo puede perjudicar la labor de dos médicos tener una relación amorosa. Y claro que pueden darse malentendidos, en cuyo caso no se debe elevar el grito al cielo y pregonar a los cuatro vientos "violador" "pervertido" "por tener pene eres un cochino". Esto ha sido un episodio que intentaba tratar la cuestión de los abusos que sufren las mujeres en el trabajo. Yo reconozco que hay tales abusos, pero también deploro la cultura de lo políticamente correcto, la inclusión social, discriminación positiva y la hipersensibilización en cuestiones de género, ligoteo y formulas patriarcales no ofensivas. Puedo admitir que el cliché de un obrero silbando a una chica pueda resultar ofensivo para algunas mujeres, pero es tan claro como el agua que otras tantas mujeres se sentirían halagadas en lugar de insultadas por ser piropeadas. Ahora bien, si se sienten halagadas por ser el obrero un joven atractivo pero insultadas si es un cuarentón gordo, creo que el problema de ser superficial no es monopolio exclusivo de los tíos.

Well what else could she do since the patient died? As for the mistake they explained that the patient wasnt ventillating due to the tube being too deep. The fact she was in a rush in the dark is probably what lead to the conditions. As for if it can be fixed... kinda hard to revive the dead.

Joex They explained it was a mistake causing patient death. Thus medical cal error costing a life. Without greater information who knows, as I just saw this clip. Here she is graduating and trying out for a position n and mistakenly kills a patient, oh well, tough situation. Keep trying. This is a bullshit snap judgement. Limited review and no action taken to improve skill where error occured. This is a problem I don't like how life can be just dismissed because of job title. If this was a laymen trying to save someone and made a mistake I get it, but a trained healthcare provider mistakenly causes death, there is reasonable n you were educated thus you are expected to not mistakenly kill.

I really Don't care to be fair she is human and is learning. Also i looked it up and there can be legal ramifications for if the patient dies but it depends. And as for improvement that is something that has to develop with time, and with that time incidences like this happen. They arent just writing off the life lost, but instead pushing themselves to keep going to get better and help the next patient.

Joex She is working, trying to get a desired position, sorry but it seems dismissive of the loss of life. Legal ramifications for providing care as a care provider that leads to death? Of course there is, but it depends on how they list cause of death. Hypoxia, lack of air, would not accurately explain the cause. Versus hypoxia due to misplace airway. Which is factually true will never be listed as cause of death even though it is.

Just seems like the guy is trying to tell her it happens and get the over it rather than live with your mistake. It was a tough situation. If that tough, wait until a better one. This is not clear what happened other than she caused patients death. The idea that it's okay and it's something to accept as just part of the job. An error lead to a death. No suspension to review if it was reasonable noble to have happened, not one guy, supervisor, deciding it was okay. Seems to easy to dismiss and try to get to accept things happen. It was an error that should not have occured. In the dark? Might be part of cause, but would most in her position and training have done as she did? Unclear, why more than one person reviewing it.
