Julie said she did these 50-year press interviews specifically for the fans but really she was dreading it and was glad they were all over. She said a part of her died when she lost her voice and that it is very difficult when she's forced to think or talk about it. She put on a brave face. Thank you so much Julie!

It was an awful thing about her voice, but nothing lasts forever. Her voice may not have been the same with age even without the surgery.

@treg1980 that interview money is peanuts compared to her voice. She was just clinging on on nostalgia interviews to keep her career afloat, and she knows it. Good thing she got that Princess Diaries role and she was introduced to a new batch of kids who are ready to love her for her old stuff (without the nostalgia factor).

Say what? Where did you get that rule? 1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. James 4:4 New Living Translation 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God." Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by Gods grace are we saved through faith; not by works, ( or being a fire fighter or law enforcement or a hero or a veteran or actor or a soul singer or making people happy or never killing anyone) 9 it is the free gift of God, not that anyone can boast of their salvation."

@@_oninim_ Not my words. Does it say, "John smith 2:15 . It is God's Holy word.. "The Bible" "IF".... you don't like it because "God ruin's everything"... (like the tv show).. Then shake your fist at God and tell him you don't like it and to go away, just like "they" are doing everywhere now by removing "GOD" so they won't have to feel guilty of their hatred for him because of their guilt from him. "you will reap what you sow."

I was a child in the seventies living with my parents in an apartment above which lived a mixed European/African family that had just returned from Europe. The kids, all four of them: Catherine, Vivian, Robert and Elizabeth would sing all day these beautiful songs from the Sound of Music which we thought were very enchanting but didn’t know where they got them from. We were after all living in Calabar, Nigeria at the time. It was years later that we got to see the movie and fell absolutely in love with Julie Andrews and the rest of the cast. I even remember with fondness the wicked tease that was the childlike Uncle Max.

Say what? You never saw her in the movie Victor Victoria where she bares her breast standing up. I've seen her interview about this years ago and what she really said when the helicopter made multiple passes over her, she said she would continually say.. G D it.. Yep, really blessed and flawless to Blaspheme the name of God and bare your breast for the world to see. All for the love of money and fame. There is no excuse.

Julie Andrews is the epitome of grace then and now. Diane Sawyer was a perfect choice to conduct this interview. What a blessing!
