Come on folks, we've seen five minutes of these people's lives, yet the majority of people want to take a four year old from her PARENTS. Wow sounds as a hasty a decision as pulling a gun is, for a silly traffic incident. To me taking a child away from the only people that will love them as a real parent can. At four years old and you want to totally turn this child's life upside down that sounds like a real American thing to do. Ya know, people elsewhere solve problems with discussion, in America you can use a gun cos thats the way you've done it since the cowboy days, it's in you culture, its how your heroes became heroes. And is at the place where all your problems start. What's wrong with people who feel naked without that gun. And those who live by the gun tend to die by it, but usually innocents get lead not intended for them, so there's the rub. Why can't American people get civilized, grow up some, your politicians want to keep ruling the world, without ruling yourselves. Would be great to hear from people in the US to let me know where I F'd up, as I've generalized muchly

The problem is so many people get offended while driving, anything is a tic for someone. I drive very safe, I don’t stay in the passing lane, I use my blinkers, I only make safe turns with room and most importantly I get out of the way of faster drivers. Because the easiest to piss off drivers are the speedsters, you cut them off, slow them down, you’re going be part of their road rage. So staying clear of these people make it a lot safer for me IMO. I go 70 down the middle, and basically everyone passes me but they do mostly in the passing lane, so I never see any issues.

I get cut off all the time. I usually just assume they didn't see me, and hit the horn to let them know I'm right there. The length of time I sit on the horn depends entirely on the situation and whether or not I think they can see or hear me. But I don't keep laying on the horn for several more seconds after they've corrected their mistake or I've maneuvered to avoid an accident. That doesn't accomplish anything. The event is done. It's just a careless mistake; not like they can undo it, so why drag it out? Driving on is pretty simple. Road rage happens when people feel entitled and like it's their right to teach others a lesson. People snap for any number of reasons like high stress, drug abuse, or an over-inflated sense of entitlement bordering narcissism just to name a few. I think we all just have to remember we share the road with each other, mistakes are going to happen, none of us knows what stress anyone else is dealing with in their lives, and we should give each other a little slack. It will end in our favor almost every time. Peace.

Don't ever get baited into saying something to a a crazy person. I retired from the the sanitation department. One day I was emptying a street garbage can into a larger garbage can on a train platform. Some guy who was standing a distance from me starting screaming at me to pick up a paper that apparently fell from the smaller garbage can. I did not do as he said. If I myself had seen it I actually would have picked it up, but I got annoyed that a complete stranger was yelling at me and demanding I do it. The guy came towards me and I said firmly "Stay away from me. Get away. Get away. Away!" The guy was insulted because I talked to him like the way someone would talk to a dog. 2 weeks later my supervisor brought me into his office, and told me that he had a signed complaint against me from the guy explaining the situation could be a problem for me. I did not say anything to him about it and later went to my lawyer, told him what happened, and the lawyer read the complaint. The lawyer starting by telling me I did everything correct and it was most wise to not get involved with the guy or argue with him and that my supervisor has no idea of what he's talking about. He said that it was ok to tell him to stay away but no more than that. That was imperative as well as wise. The lawyer said, "First of all, the guy is not your boss and he has no right to tell you what to do." "Secondly no one has the right to scream at a complete stranger on the street. It's harassment, as well as threatening someone." The lawyer used a lot of other words but I can't remember what they were and did not understand other words. The lawyer filed a complaint against the guy. Two weeks later the lawyer told me to come back and see him. He told the guy is dumb enough to want a hearing, even more stupid not to have consulted a lawyer and even much more stupid because he's going to represent himself at the hearing. My lawyer was real happy about that. My lawyer knew exactly what was going to happen and told me the lowdown. He said the whole thing is in the bag and is as good as over and that it won't even last more than 20 minutes. He told me I would not even have to show up if I did not want to at the hearing, but it would be best if I did come because I could get more money. Even though I get paid for the day, I would still get paid again for the day from the guy if I go. He said the judge will read the circumstances of what happened, just before the hearing. When he reads what happened, he will be annoyed at the guy and what he did. He told me, during the proceedings that I should not say anything at all. Do nothing and just sit. No outbursts, no making grimaces, no reactions. Nothing. That I should just sit there with a poker face and say nothing because the judge is going to want to get though this as fast as possible and will want no delays and it puts me in a good light that I just sit there and say nothing at all. He stressed that about three or four times. He said he had to, because sometimes some people, on their day in court, have the urge to play lawyer during the hearing and that's always not good. Unnecessary to have mentioned that because I knew I would make a fool out of myself if I played lawyer, but in any case, he wanted to be sure. I appreciated he did that. I went to court with the lawyer and as the lawyer said the guy represented himself. The judge started off by asking the guy what his side of the story was. I could tell by the judge's tone and mannerisms and the way he was looking at the guy, he was none too happy. The guy started by saying he was a retired supervisor for the sanitation department and then went on to explain what happened. When the guy finished explaining, the judge didn't even bother asking me anything just as the lawyer had predicted. The judge told the guy that his days as a supervisor are over and that he just admitted to committing a misdemeanor, which very well could have worked it's way into being a felony. The judge told him that he has a right to make a written complaint as to what he saw but he has virtually no right to confront me, or anyone else for that matter, on the street. The judge told him that the law does not concern itself with trifles and that he, the judge, has better things to with his time than getting involved in hearing about this nonsense. He told the guy that there is something seriously wrong with him because he made an issue out of a piece of paper. The whole thing ended up with the guy having to pay all the court fees, a day's pay for me (as well as damages) and a big time fee for my lawyer. I thought that part was very funny.

I got myself in a road rage situation early this afternoon. After I finished grocery shopping at my local store, I went to my car heading home but as I leave the parking spot this blonde lady came close crashing her vehicle into mine. She honks at me while her son comes cursing at me as if it's my entire fault our vehicles almost collided. I thought about leaving my car and breaking her windows to send them a message or worse, however. I decided that was too violent and instead flipped them the bird as I drive away freely. You see, in every situation there are choices, you may not have direct control over a situation but you do have control on how you react and respond to those situations. Stay vigilant, peace.😁
