I have a theory. Jon has always been so much in love with Jaya that he never wanted to lose her, and since she really wanted a baby while he didnt , he compromised for her sake to have a baby with another lover, Ian. Then after noticing how Jaya spend more time with Ian after having a baby, Jon thought how maybe if he had a child with Jaya, she would give him more importance. And the fact that the boy is not Jon's own son he loves him still because he's was given birth by his love Jaya.(he even left his job to take care of the boy surely the boy will grow closer to him and grow up to call him "dad" someday and not Ian). So the point is, I want to say that this dude, Jon has a really big heart, like I think he did all this just to make Jaya happy, after all when we truly love someone all we want is their happiness, though we can clearly see that it hurts him so much. I hope Jaya will understand his pain and love him more

A couple things: 1) Polygamy is the blanket term for when one spouse, male or female, has multiple spouses. Polygyny is the term for one man being married to multiple women, and polyandry is the term for one woman being married to multiple men. 2) You can tell Ian doesn't have much respect for Jon when he refers to himself and whatever her name is as being alphas and then says that Jon would "self-admittedly" claim to like being in the service of other people, like that's a bad thing or inferior to being an "alpha".
